Armea is a fictional character in the Encantadia saga, a Filipino fantasy-themed television series. She appears in the third book of the saga, Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas.

Armea is portrayed by Filipina actress and StarStruck 3 Ultimate Female Survivor Jackie Rice.

Character background

The third book of Encantadia opened with the celebration of Armea's birth, heiress of Sapiro and the long-awaited daughter of King Ybrahim and Queen Alena. But fascination with the newborn royalty was short-lived when Ybrahim ventured into the territory of the Punjabwes and got a terrible reading from the fortune-teller Rosas: Ybrahim will be killed by his very own offspring.
Dismissed at first, the prophecy was proved to be something to be feared by the king when seers from all over Encantadia verified Rosas's reading. This sent the Sapirian council into a plot of keeping the baby Armea away from the king, believing she is the fulfillment to the prophecy. The baby was abducted by the council through the help of a lady-in-waiting and given to the Picarros, who were to care for the baby in exchange for gold.

The Picarros were unable to deal with Armea's incessant crying, and so the infant was given to the Punjabwes of the Bahaghari airship, who subsequently had the same trouble with the baby. The Punjabwes noted the Sang'gre mark on Armea's shoulder, leading them to believe that she is the missing child of the Sapirian king and queen. But with the prophecy of Ybrahim's death by his own blood, the Punjabwes chose not to return the infant Armea to Sapiro.

With Dilawan's advice, the Punjabwes decided to search for a mysterious plant of Azurka in the mountains of Lireo that will magically speed up Armea's growth and put an end to her incessant crying. She was renamed Agatha by Azulan, probably for her own safety.

Armea managed to get her mother's attention while singing Alena's lullaby in the forest. After catching only a glimpse of "Agatha" along with Luntian and Violeta running in the forest, the Sapirian queen sent Apek and Wantuk in search of "Prince" Azulan's party, hoping she'll be able to see the girl behind the enchanting voice. But amidst Agatha's excitement to meet Sapirian royalties, Azulan prevented her from doing so.
But with the help of Apek and Wantuk, Armea got to meet Ybrahim and Alena in the palace, unknowing that they are her parents. Alena lost her chance to check Agatha's back for a Sang'gre mark, proving her strong hunch that she could be their missing daughter, when Azulan and the Punjabwes, in disguise, arrived to fetch Agatha. Instead, it is Azulan's true identity that was revealed when Ybrahim saw Azulan's mark in his shoulder that the Sapirian king previously discovered while he was in search for the Punjabwes.

Their disguise revealed, Azulan, seething with anger against the king, decided to take Armea away to the mortal plane as revenge for all the troubles Ybrahim has brought him. It is in the mortal world where Armea discovered her affinity with water and the power to control it. Through Cassandra, she learns that she is a sang'gre and Violeta & Luntian tell her that she is the daughter of King Ybrahim and Queen Alena. She returns to Encantadia to meet with her parents but as she gets to Sapiro, she confronts Hagorn who deceives and kidnaps her. She is saved by Ybrahim and Arman and returns to Sapiro with Ybrahim's dying body. She witnesses both of her parents' deaths and Arman's as well and accepts Arman as her brother. This is affirmed by Arman's paternity test. As Alena died, she took Alena's place in the last war of Encantadia fighting in the Hathorian front.

After the war, Armea became Queen of Sapiro under Pirena's guidance and Sapiro flourished. She was blessed by Amihan and given the Gem of Water by Danaya. She then takes her mother's place at the coronation of Cassandra. She wears basically the same clothes as her deceased mother.

Family affiliations

Sang'gre Armea is the daughter of King Ybrahim and Queen Alena of Sapiro. She is Alena's second child from Ybrahim and is the third child among Ybrahim's four offspring. She is Kahlil's full-blooded sister and is the half-sister of Lira and Arman.

Arman (Encantadia)

Arman as a Sapirian/Etherian (played by Marky Cielo).

Arman is a fictional character in the third book of the Encantadia series entitled Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas. The character is portrayed by Filipino actor and StarStruck 3 Ultimate Male and Sole Survivor Marky Cielo.

Character background

Arman is the child of Etherian royalty Odessa from King Ybrahim of Sapiro. When the Sang'gres returned to the past, Ybrahim followed and his memories were erased. Soon after, he was captured by Odessa, and through her enchanted arrow, Odessa was successful in making Ybrahim fall in love with her. The two eventually conceived a love child, but upon Etheria’s fall, Odessa and her unborn child died alongside every Etherian in the remnants of the kingdom.

In the third book, the Etherian goddess Ether revived the four Herans, and to Odessa's delight, her child was also brought to life and was eventually born. Fearing that Odessa’s loyalty to Etheria was obscured by the birth of her son, Queen Avria abducted the child and even threatened to kill him. But eventually she pitied the child and left him in the dangers of the forest. There, he was found by the Sang'gres Amihan and Pirena and was instantly brought to Sapiro. The child somehow brought joy to the grieving King Ybrahim of Sapiro after his daughter Armea had been abducted. The child was named Arman and adopted by Ybrahim, who did not have even a single clue that Arman was of his own blood.

After Avria knew of Arman’s situation, she visited the child in Danaya's guise and enchanted him to grow up fast so that he would be useful to her in the future. Like Cassiopea and Kahlil, Arman’s growth was unusually fast, and soon after, he was trained by Ybrahim for battle as one of his newfound allies in their fight against their adversaries. But in the midst of this, Avria tricked the grown-up Arman into thinking that Ybrahim and the Sang'gres killed his mother, Odessa. The truth was that Avria herself killed Odessa, in order to keep her from revealing to Arman that Ybrahim was in fact his father.

Arman became one of the reasons why Ybrahim died, because the king saved his life. (This was also because of Armea's kidnapping and Lira's return.) Alena, Ybrahim's wife, and later the Council of Sapiro, blamed Arman for their king's demise. The Council put him under trial, and sentenced him to death. But before he was executed, his mother Odessa (who had returned from Devas, the land of the dead) arrived to save him. Odessa pleaded and fought with Queen Alena to have Arman accepted as Ybrahim's son and as a Sapiryan, which led to Odessa's death. Arman was furious with Alena but told her that they were now even, for as she blamed him for his father's death, he blamed her for his mother's death. Amidst the protests of Armea (who readily believed that Arman was her brother), Alena sent Arman back to prison, to be sentenced again. Later she allowed him to be released as he passed the paternity test, the same test that Amihan used on Lira and Mira. After Alena used the butterfly to remember her love for Ybrahim, she learned to accept Arman just as Armea did. Not long after, Hagorn came to Sapiro and fought Arman and Alena. Unfortunately, Hagorn was able to put them at a disadvantage, forcing Alena choose between the Gem of Water and Arman's life. She chose Arman's life, and gave the gem to Hagorn, which ultimately led to her death and Arman's salvation.
After the last war of Encantadia, Arman became a historian while his sister, Armea became the Queen of Sapiro. He told of the life after the war just like Raquim, his Grand Uncle did. He even noted the many legends of Encantadia such as that of Danaya and Aquil having a baby, or of Amihan, Alena, Danaya and Pirena all playing in the sky. He noted that no one knew if these diwatas were still alive. Since Amihan told the viewers that Armea, Cassandra and Arman were the next generation and since there were only three kingdoms of Encantadia remaining, it could be assumed that Arman now looked after Adamya just as Armea and Cassandra ruled Sapiro and Lireo respectively.

Family affiliations

Arman being the child of Hera Odessa and Ybrahim is half Etherian and half-Sapiryan. He is the youngest Etherian to have ever lived in Encantadia’s present time and "survived" the fall of Etheria, and the most unusual at that, being an offspring of an Etherian Aega and a Sapiryan from different periods of Encantadia's history.

Arman is the half-brother of Lira, Kahlil, and Armea and grandchild of former King Armeo. He is the youngest offspring of Ybrahim.

Powers

Teleportation - this is a common ability among the royal Herans of Etheria
  • Picarros - A reclusive group of dwarfs who were entrusted with the care of baby Armea by her abductors.
  • Galatea - Emre's chief aide in Devas.
  • Sari-a - The spirit-guide of the Gem of Earth.

Plot

The Return of Ynang Reyna

The third book begins a year after the Sang'gres' return from their journey back in time to their world's past (which was chronicled in the second book, Etheria: Ang Ikalimang Kaharian ng Encantadia).

The story opens with the celebration Armea's birth, daughter of Ybrahim and Alena, the King and Queen of Sapiro and the Sapirian heiress. Alena’s Sang’gre sisters, Pirena, Amihan, and Queen Danaya of Lireo, also graced the festivities. The Sang'gres are once again in possession of the gemstones that represent the four elements: Pirena keeps the Gemstone of Fire; Amihan, the Gemstone of Wind; Alena, Water; and Danaya, Earth. Consequently, the Sang’gres use the powers conferred by the gems to preserve the peace and balance in Encantadia.

Amidst the joy and revelry, Mine-a, the Sang'gres' beloved mother seemingly returns from Devas to warn her daughters of impending danger.

After being greeted by her four daughters, Mine-a tells them that Encantadia needs them once more. Trouble is brewing. Mine-a produces four butterflies (they resemble the butterflies of Devas), each one assigned to take the Sang'gres to specific locations in Encantadia.

Revenge of the Herans

It is revealed that Ether, goddess of fallen Etheria, disguised herself as Mine-a to fool the Sang'gres. Before leaving, she gives Cassandra a crystal ball that holds the souls of the four Herans (Queen Avria of Hera Andal, Andora of Hera Sensa, Juvila of Hera Volo, and Odessa of Hera Aega) that she saved after the fall of Etheria. Cassandra accidentally breaks the crystal ball, and through a drop of blood from her cut finger, she unknowingly revives the Herans. Ether bids them to exact vengeance on the Sang'gres for what they did to Etheria by destroying their kingdoms and seizing their gems.

Through Ether's illusion magic, Avria soon infiltrates Lireo and eventually manages to replace Queen Danaya, after stealing her form and the Earth Gem. As Danaya, she manipulates the other Sang'gres, encouraging Pirena to rebuild Hathoria, while deceiving Alena and Amihan that Pirena has returned to her wicked ways. Andora also uses her mental powers to sow chaos, controlling Hathors and Pirena herself into attacking Amihan and Alena. Odessa, on the other hand, finds her way through Sapiro and befriends Cassandra. Through Cassandra, Odessa discovers that her infant son still lives, and takes every opportunity to visit him in the royal palace of Sapiro.

Finale

This third installment concluded the series. It gave the final episode of the fantaserye.
There had been many deaths of the many characters in this book. Not only the villains, but also some of the royalties died in here. Cassiopeia died almost at the beginning of the series. She was killed by Arkrey (who was at that time a mysterious masked person). Ybrahim died in here while saving his heiress from the hands of Ether. Alena died in the hands of Hagorn to save Arman. She also lost her gemstone of water to Hagorn but was later taken by Pirena. All of the villains died in here including all the Herans and their goddess Ether.
The final episode started at the last war in the world of encantados. Danaya, who was then Queen of Lireo, fought her own gabay-diwa (spirit guide) in the forest of her own kingdom. Amihan fought the goddess Ether at the bay of the Lake (or Sea or Ocean) of Adamya. Her father Raquim appeared for the moment to help her. Pirena fought her own father Hagorn at the forest of Sapiro. The army of Lireo and Sapiro joined forces to attack the realms of the Hathors. The Punjabwe twins (Violeta and Luntian) and Armea, donning her mother's armor, also helped.

The forces of good prevailed. Amihan killed Ether freeing Sariya from her command. Danaya and Sariya stopped fighting since the gemstone of earth was returned. Hagorn killed himself for he could not kill her own daughter. Pirena received the gemstone of water which she later gave to Armea.

After the war, Armea was crowned as the queen of Sapiro and received her mother's gemstone of water. She was taught by her Ashti Pirena on how to become a good and effective leader, to be loved by all. Cassandra returned from the mortal world years later as a fully grown woman. She was crowned as the 11th Queen of Lireo afterwards. Pirena returned to Hathoria and destroyed it using her gemstone.

The final scene was only storytelling about what happened afterwards. They (encantados) said that the four Sang'gres disappeared suddenly and nobody knew what happened to them. They later became myths in the land of Encantadia. An eyewitness proclaimed that he/she saw Danaya, no longer the matriarch of Lireo, in the forest with her child and her husband Aquil. The whole world of Encantadia was left at the custody of the succeeding generation: Cassandra (Queen of Lireo), Armea (Queen of Sapiro), and Arman who actually dotted the show. The last scene was with Arman who after becoming a gypsy was shown riding a dragon hovering over the pink skies of the mythical world.
