List of places in Encantadia

List of places in Encantadia

Encantadia is a Filipino fantasy television series (locally known as telefantasya) that was created and produced by GMA Network. The pilot episode was aired on May 2, 2005. Its last episode was aired on December 9 of the same year to give way to its sequel/prequel, Etheria, which aired its pilot episode on the following Monday, December 12.

Suzette Doctolero, head writer of the said series developed the plot of the story which revolved around the main protagonists and the four kingdoms that comprised the realm of Encantadia. These four divided kingdoms, where different mythical entities thrive, bear the four precious stones that holds the land's balance. The kingdom of Adamya, Sapiro, Lireo, and Hathoria. The tranquility and future of Encantadia rests on the four gemstones of water, earth, air and fire; each being carefully kept by the bearers from each kingdom.

It would also be later revealed that during the old ages of Encantadia, there once was a strong and mighty kingdom, powerful than the other four, who ruled ambitiously and wreaked havoc wanting to control the neighboring kingdoms, the kingdom was called Etheria. Subsequent to their defeat during the great war, the fall of the Etherian kingdom transpired

In the course of the story, the show featured several worlds and places in its plot apart from the four kingdoms. Here are the list of worlds featured in the show:

Other places in Encantadia

Asnamon Tree

This tree served as the passageway between Encantadia and the Human World. Its history was shown in Etheria. Mine-a noticed that the tree emitted luminescent orange leaves, indeed a very lovely tree. After fighting with Hagorn in front of the tree, Prince Raquim said that the tree was intended to be a witness of joy and true love. Instead, it has witnessed violence for true love. He cursed the tree to never blossom anything lovely again and be a passageway to the other world. And indeed the curse was carried out. From being a tree full of hope, it became a tree connecting the magical realm to the mortal world.

This tree served as the passageway between Encantadia and the Human World. Its history was shown in Etheria. Minea noticed that the tree emitted luminescent orange leaves, it is considered to a very beautiful tree and is distinctive to the other trees in Encantadia.

He cursed the tree to never blossom anything lovely again and be a passageway to the other world. And indeed the curse was carried out. From being a tree full of hope, it became a tree connecting the magical realm to the mortal world.

Queen Amihan closed the gate to the human world, and the passageway can only be opened by using the Medallion owned by Amihan, and by saying the words "Asnamon Voyanazar" meaning, "I'm a traveler, Asnamon tree. Take me to the world of Encantadia/of mortals." And to close the gate you also say "Asnamon Voyanazar, translating to, "I'm a travaler, Asnamon tree. Close the portal."

The tree was used to to bring Lira to the mortal world to die, by Pirena, Muyak followed them to the human world, and guarded Lira on her stay there. Mira also used it to meet with Anthony and Lira. Danaya later went to the human world aswell on a mission to retrieve Lira, and bring her back to Lireo.

Portal leading to Etheria

This portal, where no eye can see, is where a giant wooden door, very much like the design on the great Aztec calendar with the sun on the center, but very different because it has carving on both faces, is kept, with a giant rotating mechanism serving as a gate to another dimension. This one has inscriptions on its sides, unrecognizable to any. At the start of Chapter 138, three guards (a Sapiryan, a Diwata and a Hathor) are seen standing by guarding it. But, by chance, the door started rotating and there appeared two Etherian soldiers with none other than Animus, the killer of Memen & Ornia, Cassiopea's parents. The guards fought with them, but the Etherians won with Animus carrying away a golden chest, but its real purpose is soon yet to come. Cassiopea became a voice-over, asking us if this is the curse thereupon mentioned in Etheria, because a guard also mentioned, in Enchanta, "The curse of Etheria". This door might likely be the one behind Avria's throne in her throne room in Etheria.

Ajantao

This mountain is where the Ajantao tribe, the ganto, a unicorn-like pashnea (creature), and Evades, the last remaining pure-blood Etherian (Brother of Hera Barkus of Hera Sensa and cassiopea's mentor and caretaker) live.

Ascano

One of the 4 tribes of the fallen kingdom of Sapiro, this is where the Barbarians ("Barbaro") live. It's leader is the gigantic Wahid, Who became Ybrahim's Head Soldier after the last war.

Balaak

Balaak is considered the hell of the diwatas. This is where Hitano's soul went and the reason why when he was revived by Pirena, he became a "zombie".

Gurna brought Pirena to this place when the double full moon rose from Encantadia's night sky, prophesied by Cassiopea as a "horrible night" (karimarimarim na gabi in Tagalog). She is supposed to show her ward how new Hathors were bred, and how Pirena can defeat the Hathors. However, in the course of scouting where Hagorn and his men were heading, Pirena was bitten by a strange luminous creature, her wounds shaped like the four jewels of Encantadia in a north-west-south-east position, very much like in the logo, thus causing them to leave the place.

Hathors perform a 'breeding ritual' in this place lead by their king, once every double full moon (note: double full moons must be very, very rare for encantados), as described above. They drink the king's blood and with the aid of the tablenar (slates of stone encrypted with enchan characters), they will multiply. Hathors breed in this place for seven days. Luckily, when Pirena became well again, she heeded her jewel of fire and she struck the tablenars, destroying them forever.

Batis ng Katotohanan (The Stream of Truth)

The River where Cassiopeia sent Mira to see the face of the person she will love. This is also the place where Odessa found out Ybrahim was Alena's husband. Alena also found out that the Sapiryan with Odessa is Ybrahim. This is also where Alena killed Animus.

Devas

Devas is considered the heaven of Encantadia, and also the home of Bathala (Emre in Enchan) and his brother Arde the black dragon that guards the Limbo. This is where Encantadians go when they pass away. Although, some Encantadians can go here temporarily even when they are still alive. One example of this is Lira's mission to meet Mine-a in Devas. Some Encantadians from devas can also come back to Encantadia like for example when Raquim returned to teach and free Ybrahim in Sapiro.

Devas

Devas is a place in Encantadia, where dead Encantados go to rest.

When an Encantado dies, butterflies from Devas come to them as a sign that they are taking them to Devas, The spirit of the Encantado then travels though the sky on a flouting rock called Limbo that takes you to Devas. If the Encantado desires to not go to Devas, they must fight and defeat the Dragon, Arde, the brother of Bathala, the dragon that guards Limbo.

Etheria

The most powerful kingdom yet in the dawning age of Encantadia. It is located on the middle of Encantadia, obviously surrounded by its neighboring kingdoms, making it the capital-kingdom. This is not only what many encantados call it, but also the most "scared-off" above all kingdoms, but that was in the ancient times.

Etheria contains four more sub-kingdoms, or called in Enchanta, Heras, or tribes in English. They are also the homes of the four guardians of the Golden Hourglass. Hera Andal, citadel of Etheria, housing the powerful Queen Avria, center of medicine of the kingdom, is located in the middle of Etheria. Hera Sensa, home to the "mind-benders" of Encantadia, where Hera Andora lives, located west of Hera Andal. Hera Volo, source of Hera Andal's Kawals and warriors, located just a little west from the Lireo-Etheria boundary, home of the time-keepers in Etheria who can manipulate the pace of time, place of origin of the most powerful warrior of Etheria, Hera Juvila. And Hera Aega, south of Etheria (far from the bustling cities of Hera Andal, Hera Sensa and Hera Volo), tribe of the women-warriors who can change the emotions of anyone they desire, tribe where Hera Odessa lives.

Etheria was reborn by its key, Sang'gre Cassandra, and was destroyed by the four Sang'gres, Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya.

Etheria is the 5th kingdom of Encantadia and it is been ruled by four queens of Etheria. It's Bathaluman called Ether is the Lord of the Etherians. This kingdom was destroyed by the sugo's of the other 4 kingdom and only to prove that Etheria is a kingdom in Encantadia. Ether make a sword that is called KABILAN and it is been protected by Cassiopeia.

Lireo is a fictional queendom in the world of Encantadia, the main setting of the Philippine telefantasya (fantasy-themed television series) of the same name. In the series, Lireo is the homeland of the Diwata race, and is the youngest of the four kingdoms comprising present-day Encantadia (the others being Sapiro, Hathoria and Adamya).

Lireo was first glimpsed in the telefantasya Mulawin, where the Diwatas were introduced as allies of the Mulawins (the titular bird-people of that series). Lireo and its people were explored at length in Encantadia, whose story centered on the royal Diwatas known as Sang'gres. The founding of Lireo and the early history of the Diwatas, as well as much of the backstory of Encantadia, was prominently told in Etheria. Part of the action of Mulawin: The Movie once again takes place in Lireo.

The wise, strong, brave and powerful Cassiopea was the first ruler of Lireo. Cassiopea helped in the extinction of Etheria. Cassiopea became a member representing Lireo at the Council of Encantadia. At the start of the series, the ruler was Mine-a who was succeeded by her daughter Amihan. The ruler of Lireo carries the title of Ynang Reyna (Queen Mother). This kingdom is the keeper of the Jewel of Air.

The Diwatas are the fairest of all people from Encantadia. They do not seem to grow old. They can only die in battle or in deep sickness. They also have a close relationship with the Mulawins since the time of Cassiopea.

Lireo is considered the most progressive among the kingdoms. Their kingdom is obviously powered by a large windmill. They have the tallest towers and also seem to have cable cars in the palace. Their armies are the only ones who have Sasakyang Panghimpapawid (Airships). Their most powerful weapon of war is the Katapulto (fire catapult).

History

Lirean culture

Lireo is a matriarchal culture. Women enjoy equal if not higher status as that of men. This is evident in the fact that only females may ascend the throne. Lireo does not have a definite caste system, however, it is known that Sanggres are the highest among them. Damas are diwatas that serve the Sanggres. A special class is the warrior class, they are known as the Lirean Guard. This order serves as the military power of Lireo. This class is trained in the arts of war.

Lireo's architecture is unique. Its towers are very tall, and it seems that cable cars serve as transportation between the many towers. The towers are located in the central part of Lireo, where the Sanggres live. In the rural parts of Lireo, small houses dot the landscape. The houses there have only one story. The houses are often surrounded by gardens where they plant food.

Lireo is the kingdom that pioneered the manufacture of airships("Sasakyang Panghimpapawid"). The date when these airships were first created is not known. It can only be speculated that it was created in the later rule of Cassiopiea or in the rule of Mine-a. Lireo is the only kingdom that makes use of windmills. These windmills are the structures that power Lireo. Lireo makes use of catapults as their most powerful siege weapons.

Lireo is a kingdom that worships Emre, better known as Bathala. Bathala is their counterpart to our God. Lireo has many statues made to his liking. They offer many things before the said statues. Lireo, however, does not resort to human sacrifice for the pleasing of Bathala. It is not mentioned if Lireo built huge temples for Emre. It is also not mentioned if Lireo has priests that act as religious leaders.

Lireo's literary works are not known. It is known that they make use of a writing system similar to the alibata. Lireo has a library in the Palace of the Sanggres. Lirean rules, policy, history and other forms of literature are stored there. The Law of Lireo is also stored there. Not much is known about the many laws that pervade throughout the kingdom. However, the following are known laws:
  • Lirean law states that only female Sanggres may ascend the throne
  • Lirean law states that Sanggres cannot back off from a dare.
  • Lirean law states that traitors of Lireo must be killed.
  • Lirean law states that the Queen has absolute power over the kingdom, if she adheres to every Lirean Law.
  • Lirean law states that the Queen can issue any decree, law or policy.
  • Lirean law states that the Queen may not take a husband during her rule, but she must have heiresses to take over once she descends the throne.
Lireo is a kingdom that is on friendly terms with the kingdoms, Sapiro and Adamya. Lireo's enemy is the kingdom of Hathoria. Lireo does not quickly retaliate to hostile attacks. They will only attack back if necessary. Lireo's warriors are not as strong as those of Sapiro and Hathoria. Its greatest strength is the Race of the Sanggres, the royal family. These Sanggres are very powerful, matching the masters of Hathoria and Sapiro in the skill of war.

The monetary units in Lireo are gold, silver and other metals. Gold has the highest value among them. They have trade relationships with Sapiro. Their economy depends on agriculture like most kingdoms in Encantadia. The diwatas and encantados that live in the rural part of Lireo maintain farms for their livelihood.

The race of Diwatas

Lireo is the kingdom of the race of Diwatas. The Diwatas have a long history in the annals of Encantadia. The Diwatas are the fairest of all races. Their beauty does not fade with the flow of time, it only grows. They do not grow old in body, only in spirit. They can only be afflicted with the strongest of pestilences, which can lead to their death. They can be slain physically.

Diwatas believe that they will go to Devas, the land of the dead, after they die. When they die, the butterflies of Devas will come to send them to the bliss and heaven that is Devas, where Bathala is said to reside. However, they can be saved. In the far-flung heights of the Northern Mountains in the realm of Sapiro, lie the Tree of Life, the Tree guarded by the being of the name Evades. The leaves of this tree can give new life to the body of the fallen. However, one must answer the riddle of Evades to get the leaves. An exception is Lira, whose pure heart urged Evades to gift her with one of the blessed leaves. The dead, however, must still contain its spirit for the power of the leaves to work. If the Butterflies of Devas has taken the spirit away, the leaves will not work.

The Diwatas are not as strong in body as the Sapirians and Hathors. However, they have certain powers that prove useful. The Sanggres, a race of Diwatas that stem from the line of the most powerful Diwatas. These Diwatas are amongst the most powerful beings in Encantadia. Their words, curses, and blessings will always come true. They are also able to teleport. Each of the Sanggres has many powers.

The Diwatas were a persecuted race in the Age of the Etherian Empire. This discrimination stemmed from the Diwata believed to be the most powerful diwata that walked Encantadia, Esmeralda. Esmeralda was very powerful, since everything she decreed always comes true. She held the powerful Lirean artifact and heirloom, the Sceptre of the Queen. She resided in the forest that would be called Lireo. The Etherians discovered this, and seeing Esmeralda as a potential threat and a source of immense power, they sent skilled assassins to kill her and take her sceptre from her. However, Esmeralda fought back valiantly, though in the end, she was slain. In her dying breath, she whispered the curse that would affect the whole of Encantadia. She swore that the fall of Etheria would stem from the race of the Diwatas. After this, she died, her sceptre disappearing. Because of this, the Etherians stripped the rights of the Diwatas and made them a slaved race, having no freedom whatsoever. From there started the long history of Etheria and the Diwatas. See more in Etheria.

Monarchy

Lirean society is matriarchal, meaning that women carry a higher civil status than their male counterparts, and only a female Sang'gre in the matriarch's line may ascend the throne. Proof of this is the fact that the Ynang Reyna is forbidden to fall in love and marry or take a husband. The head of Lireo carries the title of Reyna (or Ynang Reyna if already a mother).

There have been 11 instituted rulers of Lireo since its founding. A Sang'gre (Diwata of the royal bloodline) has ruled over Lireo throughout its history, except for two periods: first, between the reigns of Cassiopea and Mine-a, and, second, during the Hathorian occupation of the throne under Agane. Hereunder is the list of Lirean queens:

Known monarchs

  • Amihan - Mine-a's second-born daughter. After acing all the trials that her mother had presented to her and her sisters, Amihan was crowned as the rightful ruler of Lireo after Mine-a. Queen Amihan's rule was one of the most tumultuous and challenging times in Lireo as well as all of Encantadia's. She was a keen, wise and regal queen whose power was attuned to her heart and mind. Amihan's reign was halted upon the invasion of her power-hungry elder sister Pirena, who had allied with the Hathors.
  • Cassiopea - Cassiopea was the very first ruler of Lireo, who established the realm, heralding it as the land of the Diwatas. The love child of Memen (a half-Etherian, half-Diwata noble) and Ornia (a Diwata), the newborn Cassiopea was entrusted to Evades to be protected from the wrath of her father's estranged wife the Etherian queen. She was the direct descendant of Esmeralda, who was said to have been the most powerful diwata to have walked the face of Encantadia and the root cause of Etheria's discrimination of the diwatas. Cassiopea was blessed by Evades to grow up fast so she could fulfill the prophecy as the savior of her demeaned race from the cruel oppression it had endured under the Etherians. Queen Cassiopea was responsible for cleaving the gem bestowed by Emre (Bathala) into what became the four elemental gemstones. For this, Emre punished Cassiopea and condemned her to live in the forest unable to return home to Lireo until all the gemstones were reunited. Cassiopea probably became the oldest living diwata looking after the generations of her bloodline.
  • Ursula - An early queen of Lireo about whom very little is known. Queen Ursula is said to have died due to a grave illness brought about by the Hathors. She is also said to not have had the shoulder mark of the Sang'gres.
  • Demetria - The queen of Lireo immediately prior to Mine-a. As with Ursula, not much is known about Queen Demetria apart from her being stricken by disease, and her not having the mark of the Sang'gres.
  • Mine-a - Albeit being heir to the Etherian kingdom from her adoptive mother Queen Avria, Mine-a, whose bloodline is later revealed to be pure Diwata, became Cassiopea's true successor and chose to accept the queenship of Lireo. During Queen Mine-a's reign, Lireo flourished into one of the most progressive and highly advanced kingdoms in Encantadia alongside Sapiro. She was a prudent and rational ruler who showed kindness, sympathy and conviction towards her people (a far cry from the Hera Mine-a she used to be). She was a skillful warrior and one of the strongest Sang'gres during her time. Mine-a also became the sole keeper of the four Gemstones of Fire, Wind, Water and Earth subsequent to Sapiro's fall and after Raquim handed the gems to her. Mine-a was blessed with four daughters whose birth paved the way for a strong breed of Diwatas. Her daughters, namely Pirena (by Hagorn), Amihan (by Raquim), Alena and Danaya (by Enuo), became the new keepers of the four gemstones.
  • Pirena - Pirena is Mine-a's first-born daughter. Queen Pirena's regime was the start of Lireo's Dark Ages. After forging an alliance with King Hagorn of Hathoria, her father, she invaded Lireo and usurped the throne from Queen Amihan. Although technically the diwatas and other encantados would still refer to Amihan as the true queen, Pirena's possession of the crown and occupation of throne theoretically made her queen.
  • Agane - After the battle that ensued during the dispute of Queen Pirena and Hagorn, whose support paved the way for Pirena's reign, Pirena was banished from Lireo. Agane, Hagorn's half sister and head of the Hathorian forces, was then installed as the new ruler of Lireo. She was never considered Queen though but Hagorn's trusted viceroy to rule over Lireo. Agane had a hand in Lireo's downward spiral in its darkest era. She was the first full-blooded Hathor to rule over Lireo who was as power-famished and as cunning and unmerciful as her dethroned predecessor.
  • Mira - Sang'gre Mira, Pirena's only daughter was captured by Hagorn and the spirit of her heart taken away from her by Lavanea, guardian of Mt. Lavanea. Hagorn foresaw ruthlessness and malevolence in the jaded Mira and ultimately she was made a successor to the Lirean throne. Queen Mira's ascension brought objections from the predisposed ruler, Agane, but her protests came to no avail. Queen Mira's reign was quite short-lived as she was slain by Asval, the traitorous Sapirian Prince.
  • Lira - Lira was hailed by Mine-a, her Ila (grandmother) and former queen, as Encantadia's luntiae that will return Lireo to its powerful and peaceful reign and achieve tranquility for the land of Encantadia. She was the key to the reunification of the four elemental gemstones and their guardians. Upon the diwatas' triumphant overthrow of the Hathors from Lireo, Amihan (whose reign was restored) blessed and installed Lira as the new queen of Lireo and Encantadia. Queen Lira ascended the throne in accordance with her mother's wish and the prophecy that she is the only heir to Amihan. Queen Lira's reign was the shortest reign in Lirean history; shortly after receiving the crown, Lira abdicated the throne in favor of a peaceful life in the mortal realm.
  • Danaya - After Queen Lira renounced her right to the Lirean throne, Imaw and former queen Amihan considered Amihan's sisters in turn to succeed Lira. Pirena, who had already worn the crown previously, declined saying that her reign was one of the most unsuccessful. Alena, next in line, also declined as she was to become queen of another realm upon her marriage to King Ybrahim of Sapiro. This left Danaya, who, though initially reluctant to receive the queenship, ultimately accepted. Queen Danaya was crowned as the tenth ruler of Lireo and headed the land of Encantadia. It was mentioned that Danaya will later give the throne of Lireo to Cassandra, Lira's daughter. During her reign, Danaya, along with her sisters travelled back in time, back when the Kingdom of Etheria was in its full glory, as they were tasked to recover the golden hourglass and obliterate it in order to safeguard their present. Subsequent to their safe return from the past, their former adversaries threathened to wreak havoc in the land of Encantadia. Etheria's former queen, Avria, abducted Danaya and stole her identity alongside the Earth Gem. While Danaya was imprisoned in an unknown place, Avria used Danaya's identity as leverage to strike chaos amongst the citizens of Lireo and to infiltrate a plan to rift the elemental goddesses' apart.
  • Cassandra - Upon her return to Encantadia the grown up Cassandra was crowned the 11th monarch of Lireo. This paved the way for the former queen Danaya to finally seek a happy life with her love Aquil which resulted in the birth of their only child.

Sang'gre

Sang'gre is the Enchanta term used to refer to a Diwata of royal blood, and who as such possesses special powers and destinies above those of a common Diwata. Sang'gre is also used as a title or honorific for such Diwata royalty, who are addressed as Sang'gre before their names.

A Sang'gre is identified by a distinctive birthmark on their left shoulder blade that corresponds to the symbol for Lireo (and the Wind element). The symbol resembles the nga character of the Baybayin script, an ancient Filipino writing system.

Sang'gres have the ability to teleport or vanish and instantly transport themselves (and others in close proximity to them) to another place. However, while this skill is already second-nature to them, they cannot perform it when they are physically bound or are severely wounded. A Sang'gre's word is all-powerful; his/her curse is feared for it always comes true. They are also the only encantados/encantadas who can be seen by the naked human eye.

The known Sang'gres are listed hereunder, in order of their ages, from eldest to youngest:
  • Mine-a
  • Cassiopea
  • Pirena
  • Amihan
  • Alena
  • Danaya
  • Lira
  • Mira
  • Kahlil
  • Cassandra
  • Armea

Geographic features

In the eastern part of Encantadia, lie the kingdom of Lireo. Lireo covers most of eastern Encantadia, reaching as far into the Northern Mountains and to the borders of Adamya in the south. The Forest of Lireo serves as the main border between Lireo and the other kingdoms. The many rivers that stem from the Mountains of East Lireo serve as the borders to Adamya.

The lands by the Northern Mountains, East Lirean Mountains and the Rivers that flow to Adamya are the lands of Rural Lireo. These lands are the main agricultural lands of Lireo. Southern Lireo is especially fertile for many rivers flow there to the Sea of Adamya.

Rivers serve as the main bathing places of encantados and diwatas. The waters here are very pure and safe to drink. The rivers flow from the mountains. There are many waterfalls in Lireo.

The Northeastern part of Lireo serves as Central Lireo, the capital. This part of the kingdom serves as the capital. The Sanggres make their residence here.

One of the many rivers of Lireo contains the famed Fountain of Truth("Batis ng Katotohanan"). The Forest of Lireo serves as the host to the Asnamon Tree, the portal between Encantadia and the Mortal World. It is rumored that the ancient Puno ng Gintong Binhi("Tree of the Golden Seed"), the sacred tree of the Mulawin race, can be found in Lireo.

Mount Lavanea

The volcano where the diwata Lavanea lives. It is full of Uruvaks, scavenger pashneas. Lavanea is a powerful guardian who controls the volcano. She is responsible for making Mount Lavanea active or dormant. In order for this Diwata to perform her natural duties, she has to exist without a heart and emotion. She serves the Gem of Fire - Brilyante ng Apoy.

Limbo

Limbo is the place between the Encantadia and Devas. It is a floating island guarded by a black dragon named Arde.

Warrior's camp

Located somewhere along the borders of Lireo is the camp of the Mandirigma (Warriors). Rougish nomads without fealty or allegiance, Mandirigma survive mainly by stealing from the four other kingdoms, mostly from Lireo. This lifestyle endowed their members with cunning and great fighting skills, albeit rather crude manners and blurry morals. Often looked down upon by the citizens of Lireo, they have acquired a reputation for being nothing more than petty criminals, but unknown to many the Mandirigma are also kind hearted and they kill only the Hathors.

Sapiro is a fictional kingdom in the land of Encantadia, the fantasy world in which the Philippine television series of the same name is set. In the series, Sapiro is the home of the Sapirians, a race of valiant and combat finesse citizens. As told in the show, Sapiro is one of the four kingdoms that comprise present-day Encantadia, the others being Lireo, Hathoria and Adamya. During the initial episode, Sapiro fell to Hathoria and was ultimately destroyed. During the finale, Sapiro was reinstated as a strong and supreme kingdom. In the prologue of the prequel/sequel series Etheria, Sapiro was one of the most powerful kingdoms alongside Etheria, Hathoria and Adamya.

The Kingdom of Sapiro is situated in the northern tip of Encantadia, just a few miles above where Etheria was once situated. Its founder and first ruler was King Nahq who is the ancestor of its present Queen, Armea, who established a Patriarchal Monarchy. This kingdom is the original keeper of the Jewel of Earth, the land blessed with precious metals and stones and its soil fertile enough for crops to grow. This also is the kingdom from where Prince Raquim, King Armeo's cousin and Amihan's father, hails from. It is also the kingdom that rescued the Adamyans from the clutches of the Hathors during the time of their conquest. In that conquest, the Hathors got hold of two of the jewels and used this advantage to defeat the Sapirians who had but one gemstone. The whole kingdom was destroyed in that battle. Despite their eventual defeat, King Armeo managed to slay Arvak (the ruler of Hathoria in that time) and take from him all three elemental gems of Earth, Fire and Water, temporarily halting the Hathors' vicious campaign. Because he was mortally wounded and was about to die, he then gave the Jewels to Raquim and bade him to give it to the Diwatas for safe keeping. Armeo's father, King Meno, helped the extinction of Etheria and became a member of the Council of Encantadia. So far, there are only two known surviving Sapirians from the Royal House: Ybrahim, the next heir to the throne, and Asval, a strange and mysterious warrior (whose real loyalties are uncertain and turned out to be a traitor) who was always with his two accomplices Bandok and Axilom.

The Sapirians are closely similar to the Diwatas, they can also teleport themselves to another place and shoot out blast bolts from their hands. However, they are more hostile, more cunning and shrewder than the denizens of Lireo. They have the ability to heal themselves or others of a disease or any kinds of wounds. In contrast to Lirean royalty, Sapirian royalty is very much akin to the traditional patriarchal definition of an absolute monarchy. This means the eldest son of the king is next in line to rule the mystical kingdom. The Sapirian king is allowed to love whoever he wants to love and choose his wife but the difference from the Diwatas is that their race is dominated by men

They are best known for their unmatched skills in swordsmanship and archery. They are also proficient in hand-to-hand combat. Sapirians also have incredible strength, which they draw all their powers from. They are very shrewd and cunning, making them great allies and very dangerous enemies in battle.

The Sapirians are also involved in the founding of the kingdom of Lireo. The land where Lireo stands was once a forest where Prince Raquim brought the Diwatas to hide under Evades' protection during Queen Avria's great purge against the Diwatas. It was here that they found refuge and peace. Cassiopea declared it Lireo. Until the war that brought down Etheria, Lireo flourished as a powerful kingdom next to Sapiro.

Sapirians would be later revealed as miners. This would explain the riches they have hidden underground the caverns. They also produce the best wine in Encantadia.

Sapiro

On the North of Encantadia is the Kingdom of Sapiro. The land of valiant, shrewd and cunning warriors, the Sapirians. At the start of the series, this vast kingdom was under the rule of King Armeo, his wife and queen Mayne, and his future heir Prince Ybrahim (also named Ybarro). This kingdom is the original keeper of the Jewel of Earth, the land blessed with precious metals and stones and its soil fertile enough for crops to grow. This also is the kingdom from where Prince Raquim, King Armeo's cousin and Amihan's father, hails from. It is also the kingdom that rescued the Adamians from the clutches of the Hathors during the time of their conquest. In that conquest, the Hathors got hold of two of the jewels and used this advantage to defeat the Sapirians who had but one gemstone. The whole kingdom was destroyed in that battle. King Armeo was also killed later in the fight with King Arvak, the Hathorian king at that time and the father of the present king Hagorn. But Arvak was killed by Prince Raquim, regained the gemstones and gave it to Queen Mine-a of Lireo for safeskeeping.

Sapirians also have incredible strength, which they draw all their powers from. They are very shrewd and cunning, making them great allies and very dangerous enemies in battle, but despite these abilities Sapirians are friendly and kind-hearted.

The Sapirians are also involved in the founding of the kingdom of Lireo. The land where Lireo stands was once a forest where Prince Raquim brought the Diwatas to hide under Evades' protection during Queen Avria's great purge against the Diwatas. It was here that they found refuge and peace. Cassiopeia declared it Lireo. Until the war that brought down Etheria, Lireo flourished as a powerful kingdom next to Sapiro.

There are four tribes on Sapiro:
  1. Adjantao : the land of the nomads
  2. Ascano : the land of the Barbaros
  3. Yudo-o : not much is known, but Rosas from Book 3 is said to be the last of her tribe.
  4. Arnon : the tribe of Azulan (book 3), a mortal who fell in love with Amihan disguised as a powerful prince, the twin warriors Luntian and Violeta and the Adamian Dilawan.
Sapirians would be later revealed as miners. This would explain the riches they have hidden underground the caverns. They also produce the best wine in Encantadia.

Adamya

Situated in the Southern tip of Encantadia, the Kingdom of Adamya is the home of the little people or prairies. These small yet intelligent creatures are called Adamians and are the keepers of the Jewel of Water. The kingdom is headed by its wise and faithful ruler Imaw, who possesses a staff that enables him to look into the past of a particular person it can also enable him to see current events he can also wield its awesome powers (it seems that the staff is a kind of history book compressed into a single object). Imaw's father Aegen helped the extinction of Etheria and became a member of the Council of Encantadia. Its dissidents, the Adamyans, are also friends to the two other dissidents in Encantadia as well as to the Mandirigmas particularly because of their friendly nature and great wisdom.

The Adamyans are also known for being hard working farmers. They have a vast plantation and beautiful beaches (for their kingdom is very near to the lake/sea/ocean of Adamya) in their kingdom. They seem to only gather food every time without a care in the world.

During one of Encantadia's most turbulent epoch, the Kingdom of Adamya was overpowered by the Hathors' conquest to seize the Water Gem from its keeper. In the battle that transpired, a majority of the little denizens of Adamya died.

Hathoria

On the western border is the Kingdom of Hathoria where the militaristic, vicious and power-famished Hathors abound, it is described as a dark, gloomy kingdom that is also full of decay. It is home to many dangerous beings, bounded by treacherous terrains and caverns. Hathors are known throughout encantadia for their prowess in battle and superior knowledge of the arts of war (only the Sapirians are more cunning and more war-like). During the latter half of his reign, the Hathorian King Arvak embarked on a campaign of conquest to steal all four elemental jewels that would signal the start of a chaotic era in the history of Encantadia. Arvak's ancient predecessor, Bartimus, had a hand in the extinction of Etheria and became a member of the Council (Konseho) of Encantadia. After Arvak died during the fall of Sapiro, his son and successor Hagorn ascended the throne and continued his work.

Hathors multiply every time Encantadia's two moons are simultaneously full. The Hathorian king and a good number of his followers go to Balaak, their place of multiplication. There the King performs a ritual wherein his blood is drunk by Hathors. The "anointed" Hathors are then left inside Balaak for seven days to spontaneously multiply.

Hathors are known to be the most spiritually connected with their ancestors. They have rituals in which the current king would be able to talk with a chosen ancestor. They are also the only people from Encantadia who is not blessed with long age. They grow old and die like humans.

In their battle against Lireo, Hathors were found to have flier commandos. These units were equipped with skydiving gears to attack and board Lirean airships. Their most powerful weapon in war is the Cannon.

Encantadia plot summary (part one)

This is the first part of two parts of the plot summary of Encantadia fantasy soap opera (locally known as telefantasya) being aired in Philippine television.

This page will help understand the summaries of the episodes 1-110 of the series Encantadia.

Introduction

Encantadia is a term coined from the Filipino word encantada or encantado which means enchanted beings endowed with supernatural powers.

In the show, Encantadia is a vast enchanted realm comprising of four divided kingdoms where different mythical entities thrive. These four kingdoms bear the four precious stones that holds the land's balance. The kingdom of Adamya, Sapiro, Lireo, and Hathoria. The tranquility and future of Encantadia rests on the four gemstones of water, earth, wind and fire; each being carefully kept by the bearers from each kingdom.

But when the Hathors, from the kingdom of Hathoria threatened to accumulate all the gems from the other bearers, hostility and war swept over the realm. It's a battle of three kingdoms against one.

The story unfolds in Lireo, the kingdom where Ynang Reyna Minea lives with her daughters Amihan, Alena, Danaya, and Pirena. The four Sangg'res are tasked to be the new keepers of the gemstones. Their skills in war and their powers as the royalty of the diwatas are believed to be the strength of Lireo. As long as the gemstones are kept properly, the balance of nature in Encantadia remains. But this story tells viewers that powers can also break precious relationships as Pirena had plotted the downfall of her own sister Amihan, who won the competition for the Lirean crown, and the other Sangg'res Danaya and Alena took Amihan's side.

With this situation, Lira, the long lost daughter of Amihan returned to Encantadia and tried to fulfill her mission of mending the broken relationships of the strong-willed gemstone keepers.

The main protagonists

The story revolves around the four Sang'gres of Lireo, the center of worship in Encantadia - Amihan, Alena, Danaya and Pirena. Amihan, the enthroned Queen of Lireo is the keeper of Jewel of Wind and the mother of Lira whom she had born to Ybarro, also known as Prince Ybrahim, the heir to the fallen kingdom of Sapiro. Amihan sits in the throne of Lireo as queen with the wisdom and kindness of her mother and the skills of swordsmanship and strong arms of her father Raquim. Alena is the third among the four daughters of Queen Minea and the keeper of the Jewel of Water. Alena is also the lover of Ybarro and mother of Kahlil. Pirena, the eldest among the Sang'gres, keeps the Jewel of Fire and had used it to defeat her mother, Queen Minea, who have favored Amihan to wear the crown in her place but she will realize that she's very special and finds the love remaining inside deep in her heart. She is the smartest and most skillful among the Sang'gres. Danaya is the fearless and most lawful among the Sang'gres. She possesses the Jewel of Earth and receives the care and affection of Aquil, the chief of the Lirean soldiers. Because of Pirena's anger toward Amihan, she replaced baby Lira with her own daughter Mira and had left the former in a dirty place in the world of the human beings. There she grew up and fell in love with a rich youth named Anthony, whom Mira also fell in love with. But Lira has a higher calling as a Sang'gre. She is hailed by Minea as the savior of Encantadia. Her goal is to reunite the four Sang'gres who have, at the course of the story, hated each other because of situations willed by Bathala. Like the history of Encantadia itself, the four Sangg'gres also have a similar story because Pirena symbolizes Hathoria which is the enemy of the other three sisters of earth, wind and water. But as the story goes by, Amihan, Alena and Danaya realize that their love for their evil sister still remains strong and realize that she was never the enemy but the Hathors.

Amihan's beginnings

One of the most significant beginnings of the tale is the entwined linkage of Encantadia to the mortal realm through the Asnamon Tree, a century-aged tree serving as the gateway to both worlds. The pilot episode established the account of one of the lead protagonists, Amihan. In here, she and her father Raquim lived a mortal existence. But she discovers her magical heritage and her ability to control the wind. Soon she realized that her father is in fact a prince. And all of Encantadia is told to young Amihan by her father.

Her father's death to the hands of the gruesome Hathorian leader, Hagorn, triggered an early consciousness to fight. She is whisked away into Encantadia, reuniting with her biological mother, Ynang Reyna and her sisters. Amihan is on a road to self-discovery and finding out her true heritage.

The four guardians of the Jewels of Encantadia

As time goes by, Amihan grows up and learns all about her people and the land of Encantadia. She learns how to speak the language and how to act like a Sang'gre (a diwata of royal blood). And she is seen as the most likely candidate for the throne of Lireo, which upsets the eldest sister, Pirena, who is convinced that her mother is playing favorites and loves Amihan more than all her other children.

The four Sang'gres soon grow up. Amihan grows up mature and motherly with the wisdom and kindness of her mother and the strength and abilities of her father. Pirena lets her anger and jealousy get the best of her and thus grows up bitter, cunning and deceitful. Alena grows up innocent, beautiful and demure as ever, and her beauty gets her quite a few suitors, including Ybarro (later named as Ybrahim) and she is also the one with the most majestic powers. Danaya grows up into a strong-willed, rebellious, albeit militaristic woman with a soft spot for nature.

These four sisters bear the powers of the four jewels since their childbirth. Pirena is the elemental goddess of Fire, Amihan the elemental goddess of wind, Alena the goddess of water and Danaya for Earth. All of them are brave, skilled, powerful and one of the strongest beings in Encantadia. Aside from the elemental powers, All of them have different abilities like Pirena's shapeshifting abilitites to humanoid forms and ionic flight, Amihan's abilitites to levitate, Alena's powerful voice, and Danaya's shapeshifting abilitites to various plants and animals.

Choosing the new Queen of Lireo

The time came for a new queen to ascend the throne. Minea, after having consulted her advisors, told her daughters to prepare for the test. Pirena later overheard Minea talking with Imaw that she wish either of her three daughters, except Pirena, would become queen, vaguely mentioning something about Pirena's "blood" (she still didn't talk about it clearly and it even mystified wise Imaw) and that she is sorry that Pirena won't be able to fulfill her ambition but Pirena was already gone this time, angry and hurt with questions on her mind.
The test for the sisters is to fight a cloaked warrior. The goal is to retrieve a "key" that the warrior wears as a pendant. The cloaked figure, clad in white with a brown face cover (the attire is, intriguingly, of a common Sapirian warrior).

Alena went first and scummed but was very proud of it. Danaya went next and it was her battle that was most difficult (she even stepped on several traps). Defeated, she also went home sulking. Next went Amihan. When the enemy proved to be too strong for her, Pirena decided to join her and together they forced it to retreat into the woods.

In the midst of their pursuit, Amihan fell of a cliff, Pirena then tried to save her but then remembering that it would ruin her dream of becoming queen, kicked Amihan's hand, letting her fall down. The cloaked warrior flew down rescuing the diwata. It was at this moment that Amihan discovered the warrior's identity. It was Ynang Reyna and she stated that she would know since her mothers love would always show, despite any sort of disguise. They both safely returned to the cliff.

Because of Pirena's betrayal, Amihan is declared the heir to the throne. Pirena, hurt and angry, decides to challenge the queen for the throne and steals the crystal of fire (with the goading of her long-time nanny and secret-Hathor-spy Gurna) to ensure her success. Pirena manages to bring down Ynang Reyna aided by the gem's power. But before the last blow was struck, her three sisters join forces and defeat her. She escapes and allies herself with the Hathors.

During the ceremony to acknowledge Amihan as the legal heir to the throne, the three remaining elemental gems are entrusted to each of the sisters. Amihan is entrusted with the air gem, Alena with the water gem, and Danaya with the earth gem.

Their characteristics are very different, though. Pirena is the envious one, but on the other hand, she is smart, talented, and the one who works the hardest to achieve her goal. Amihan is the smartest, like her mother, she is also motherly, the best in war in swordsmanship and has the strongest arms. Alena has the most distinctive powers among her sisters, also the most beautiful, she is kind, honest and a brave warrior no matter who she faces. Danaya is the one strict and hard to control like her niece Lira, but she is strong, brave, and her heart is always on the right side.

The Four Jewels of Encantadia

When the four kingdoms were not yet divided, Encantadia only had one jewel carrying the powers of Fire, Air, Water and Earth. Whe the Hathors planned to steal the jewel of elements, Cassiopeia immediately hit the jewel with a powerful sword known as the Kabilan and saw four new jewels each carrying equal amount of power. The fire jewel was given to Hathoria, the water jewel to Adamya, the earth jewel to Sapiro and the air jewel to Lireo. Bathala was angry with what happened and punished Cassiopeia that only when the jewels are back together she may go back to her kingdom and go to Devas. The Hathors managed to attack Adamya and possess the jewel of water. The Sapirians came to the rescue and killed the king of Hathoria but in return, the king of Sapirio, Armeo was also killed. Armeo gave the three jewels to his cousin Raquim to give it to Minea for safety. As the years have passed all jewels were together leaving the Hathors afraid to attack Lireo. As four powerful Sang'gres were born each was carrying power that the four jewels hold. The four jewels were then entrusted to them for safety and protection. (For the full reason of the existence of the Jewel of the Elements, see Cassiopeia and Etheria below)

The heir to the throne

It soon becomes apparent that Amihan must also produce her heir. She invokes Bathala to help her find a worthy father to her child. The father chosen is none other than Ybarro, who is revealed to be the long-lost prince of the fallen kingdom of Sapiro. Both Ybarro and Amihan conceive the child in a collective dream. A healthy daughter is born and is named Lira. She is blessed with extraordinary powers by her aunts Alena and Danaya. Danaya blesses Lira with an innate protection against Pirena's powers and energies while Alena gifts her with a beautiful voice that can magically soothe and calm her mother's (Amihan's) heart.

Pirena, aware of the situation, hatches a plan and also conceives a daughter with an unmentioned soldier. The child is named Mira and is born at the same time as Lira.
By this time Pirena has joined the Hathors and is plotting with them against Amihan. Since she sees the newborn Princess Lira as a major hindrance, she kidnaps the baby and tried to kill her, however she fails because of Danaya's blessing and her dagger could not touch the child so instead she sends Lira to the mortal realm through the Tree of Asnamon. She then replaces the real Princess Lira with her own child, Mira.

The real Lira is adopted by a poor couple and they name her "Milagros" (or "Miracle" in English) because once their hut catched fire, they found the baby still safe even after the hut fell down to everyone's amazement. Because of a railroad accident that killed her foster father, Mila, as she is now known, not only grows up poor, but hated and abused by her foster mother, who blames the accident on Mila, and her spoiled-rotten daughter.

When she grows up she finds a job as a maid for a rich family, headed by the overbearing, bitchy Carmen, and her son Anthony (whom Mila once met when they were kids and they ran away together for a while). And though Mila and Anthony reunite and strengthen their relationship, not as friends, but as lovers, Mila has to endure the torture her adoptive mother and mistress put her through, along with the taunting of her nemesis, spoiled, scheming Marge. There are also the problems of the manifestation of her powers, and a thought that haunts her everyday: the thought that she might have a screw loose, because she sees things that, though real, cannot be seen and are deemed fictitious by humans.

Pirena's revenge

Meanwhile in Encantadia, Pirena goes on with her diabolical plans which affect both her family and all the diwatas in general. Some of these include:
  • Disguising herself (because she has shapeshifting abilities) as Bathala (a Philippine mythical god) and showing herself (as Bathala) to Alena, urging her to give up her gem of water to "ease her pains" and to stop thinking about her lover (Alena thinks Ybarro is dead after a fight and is stricken with grief), causing Alena to temporarily lose her memory. She did this while Alena was contemplating suicide and was emotionally unstable. She later disguised herself as a dead Alena whom her sisters grieved upon and burned on a funeral pyre while the real Alena (Akesha) was taken away by Hitano (Bardano) (this is the reason why she's not present in the funeral, though no one would be suspecting anyway for they are all sad).
  • Disguising herself as Danaya and making an attempt on Amihan's life, which leads to the real Danaya's exile. At first Amihan won't believe but she later changed her mind. Pirena' plan would have been foiled when Aquil told Amihan that it was possibly Pirena, remembering an event when someone, disguised as him, entered the treasury and stole the fire gem. However when they check on Pirena in her room, they found her (Hagorn disguised as Pirena because Hators have the ability to shapeshift, too) peacefully sleeping.
  • Lying to her daughter about Mila, whom Lira (now known as Mira) has befriended, making up lies that Mila is the last member of a cursed royal clan that is banished unto the mortal realm and would be a barrier to Lira's ascension to the throne. She then encouraged Lira to kill Mila but Lira failed to do this on the last minute because she loved her friend. When Anthony suddenly came in (Lira hid) she realized Mila was the girl that Anthony was talking about and felt that she should have really killed her. She later told Pirena that if she (Pirena) want to get rid of Mila, she has to use her own ends for she has no interest in seeing Mila again.

Danaya's journey to the human world

Now Danaya, who has been wrongfully banished from Lireo, comes upon the Tree of Asnamon, and seeing Lira open the portal, decides to follow. She lands in Carmen's backyard and meets Mila, but is soon driven out by Carmen and her stooge.

Because she is not familiar with the mortal world and its laws, she strikes people who anger her for whatever reason and thus getting into a couple of run-ins with the police. In the mortal world, she meets another diwata, Muyak (who has been gone for 18 years to watch over Mila). At first, Danaya doesn't recognize Muyak, but she soon remembers Muyak and they set off on a quest to find Mila.

After a bullet wound, a trip to the hospital, and a failed attempt to convice Mila she is a diwata later, they decide to go back to Encantadia but realize that the portal is closed. They are stuck in the mortal world.

Meanwhile, Asval (Bobby Andrews) with some surviving Sapiryans (Brad Turvey and Gerard Pizarras) continued to test Ybrahim to see if he is worthy to be the heir of King Armeo, the old king of Sapiro. They believed that Asval is the bravest Sapiryan warrior, but no one knows how he escaped the Great Battle of Encantadia.

Amihan told Alena that Ybarro is alive. Danaya and Muyak will see face to face, and Pirena goes to the world of mortals to see if Mila (Jennylyn Mercado) is still alive, and they will meet each other.

The truth about Mila

There will be confirmation that Mila is the daughter of Amihan. Mila is getting crazy, so many things plays on her mind - one of which is that Anthony is also getting insane. The Hathor will take care of Mila, and Lira will find out that her "medallion" is with the Hathor. The Hathor will land the world of mortals to kill Mila.

Anthony asks psychiatric help from Mila, and see the powers of love in the process.
Pirena ruins Mila by telling Lira that she is also a 'diwata' with bad blood, and because of this, Lira may not become a queen. Cassiopeia (Cindy Kurleto) is bribed by Pirena.
Amihan sympathizes with Ybarro. Hagorn tells Pirena that he volunteered to go to the world of mortals and kill Mila. Amihan declares war against Hathoria and war ensues.

Hagorn is able to weaken Mila to near death but the Mulawins help to revive her. With the help of Bagwis, Danaya and Mila are able to go back to Encantadia through a medallion that was hidden in the tomb of Avilan who founded Avila — the kingdom of the Mulawins.

The battle between Pirena and Amihan

With the help of Hagorn and the Hathors, Pirena comes and battles the kingdom of Lireo. When Pirena comes to Amihan telling her everything she plotted, Amihan was full of anger and had nothing to do but to battle her sister. At first, Amihan clashed her sword with Pirena and both outshowed their skills in swordsmanship and elemental powers. Pirena confidentially undraws her daggers and produced fire balls but Amihan was able to block them all, Amihan was quick enough to hit Pirena with her sword and made her sister weak. The fire goddess surprises Amihan with fire shaped like a whip but the elemental goddess of wind used air as a shield. Pirena produced another fire ball but with Amihan angry she quickly striked her sister's hands with wind leaving nothing on Pirena's hands, Amihan curses Pirena that she will never be happy and content. Amihan got her sword and tried to kill Pirena but Alena blocked it (because Pirena convinced Alena that Amihan and Ybarro have a relationship) but later on, Alena sides with Amihan and the two sisters beat their eldest sister proving that Amihan doesn't need two jewels to be strong. Pirena manages to escape while Amihan sends Alena to Ybarro to fix their relationship. After minutes Amihan fall because of thousands of Hathors that surrounded her. Pirena cages Amihan after the war.

The Kabilan

To end the conflict between kingdoms, Ybarro must go to fight Cassiopeia and possess the Kabilan, a bolo knife. Numerous persons in the past failed to defeat Cassiopeia. But for the first time, Ybarro defeated Cassiopeia and she has no choice but to show the location of the Kabilan. The Kabilan had been hidden at the center of three tall white stones guarded by dementor looking spirits.

Pirena transforms herself to look like Amihan and spins a different tale that makes Danaya look bad and herself, good. She then leaves the unsuspecting Lira in a tower and seals the entrance so that only she with her water crystal can pass through the stairs.

Recovery of the Earth Jewel

Each of the four stones had been known as a source of power. And then it became clear that beyond the power is the responsibility that goes with it: Losing a stone means grave danger, as Danaya realized. When her earth stone was dropped at sea by Avilan, earth's vegetation had been slowly withering. Before it gets too late, Danaya will have to be inside a bubble and go hunting for the stone underwater.

Deceptions revealed

After learing that her two mothers were just using her for their own ends, Mira decided to go back to the land of the mortals. Mira was crying while she was cooking and a tear fell on what she was cooking and when Carmen (Anthony's mom) ate it, she ended up crying, too.
After an air-element gabay-diwa named Aure (a being half psyche and half diwata from the mind of an encantado) disguises in a form of a pigeon (Cheska Garcia) to guide Lira to her escape, a water-element gabay-diwa, Agua (Sunshine Garcia), who will, in turn, help Alena to save Kahlil, Alena and Ybarro's son; who will be a character that will tie some loose ends in the series.

Kahlil will attempt to kill Lira. This future fight between cousins (mothers are sisters) and half-siblings (same father) is reminiscent of the story of Cain and Abel. This might be the reason why Kahlil's tear was not salty water but blood. Spurned by his father, jealousy may be the reason behind this blood feud.

But before Kahlil kills Lira, he has fulfilled his mother's curse to kill Hitano. Although, the Hathors revived Hitano as a monster through the help of a fire spirit guide (gabay diwa), Alipato.

The Avatar

Cassiopeia had been collecting gold in exchange for prophecy. Because of Kahlil's birth, Cassiopea think of an idea on how can she destroy Kahlil because Alena said that no one known weapon can destroyed Kahlil when she was laboring him after escaping to Hitano at the Kingdom of Hathoria and before she become a water plant to heal her body and to escape death in the help of water spirit-guide Agua. The reason of Cassiopea to destroy Kahlil is that because he's a threat in the life of Encantadia lunteai Lira. Then afterward, she think an idea, to make a weapon that not already known in Encantadia. She put some gold to her tresury but sudden she think twice, she really need that good for a mission (later in the finale week of book1, cassiopea use the gold meltdown in fire to rub in her back so she can have a butterfly wings to become free in the forest where she imprisonned a hundred years by Emre because of the jewel of element and help the sang'gre in their war against Hagorn and to the Hathoria)but at last she use some of gold and melt it and make a sword and she called it Avatar. But this might be her answer to the Hagorn's Kabilan.

The Kalasag

A mysterious masked warrior, the Kalasag, helps Aquil during a fight with some Pashneas. Asval and his men also encountered the Kalasag. Unknown to them, the Kalasag is Ybarro. He was able to escape after Asval imprisoned him.

Lira's mission

Cassiopeia has taken Lira into her lair and tells Lira that she is the saviour of Encantadia. After Lira asked how she can save Encantadia, Cassiopeia further explains that she must go to Devas to meet Minea and all the answers will be revealed to her. For Lira's protection during her journey, Cassiopeia gave the Avatar to Lira. After Amihan discovers Lira's mission, she allows Lira to go to Devas but she will be accompanied by Danaya. They are later joined by Wantuk and Apek in middle of their journey in the flying ship. On her arrival to Devas, Lira meets Minea, Raquim, Armeo and the guardian sent to her by Minea when she was trapped in the castle. Minea tells Lira that the only way to maintain the peace in Encantadia is by making the four sisters (Pirena, Amihan, Alena and Danaya) who are the elemental goddesses of fire, wind, water and earth and who are the carriers of the four jewels, get along once and for all and the four jewels must be put back together.

Alena's return

Alena returns after being turned to a water lily by the water spirit guide and reunites with Ybarro. They have soon found out that their son, Kahlil, is being held by Pirena. But after going to Lireo and confronted Pirena, Ybarro, Alena and Amihan are not able to find Kahlil in Lireo because, unknown to them, Kahlil was tasked to follow Lira to Devas and kill her.

Kahlil's death

After encountering Barbarians in Ascano, Lira weakens after a fight with Kahlil but in the end Danaya kills Kahlil and discovers that Kahlil is a Sang'gre. Danaya advises Lira to continue her journey with Wantuk and Apek while she returns dead body of Kahlil to Adamya.

In Adamya, Alena grieves her son's death while Danaya confesses that he killed Kahlil. Because of this Alena challenges Danaya to a fight.

While Alena and Danaya fight, Danaya willingly let's herself lose the battle because she loves her sister. When Alena was about to stab Danaya with her spear, Amihan stops her. Alena thought Amihan was siding with Danaya so she left them and stayed alone.

Alena was alone near the water thinking. After a few minutes, Pirena finds her and asks her if she would like to be in her side. Alena says yes but with one condition which is if Pirena will give back the jewel of water. Pirena gives the jewel and Alena and her jewel were finally united again. Alena now tricks Pirena and scares her sister away.

Alena's anger and pain

Alena, now back with her water jewel is much stronger and powerful. She challenges Amihan and Danaya but they refused to battle with her so Alena again ran away. Alena saves Lira whom just came back from Devas from a Hathor. Alena tries to kill Lira but she loves her sister's daughter so she refused to kill her. Alena tries one more time but Ybarro saves her daughter from his lover.

Amihan, confused, calls Alena and challenges her sister. They both were equal in power so it was considered an equal fight. But Alena is not as powerful as her sister because Amihan was trained since she was a child so Alena fell and her sister told her that if she comes near her daughter again, she would kill her.

The second coming of Kahlil and his eventual death

Alena talks to the spirit of water on how she can be with her son again. Agua tells her that only Alipato, the spirit of fire can call dead spirits from the other world back to Encantadia. Alena now talks to Pirena and Pirena agrees. Kahlil now returns knowing everything but he is not happy. He wants to be quiet again in Devas. After a few days, he goes to Lira to ask her to kill her even if they're now friends. Lira refuses to kill her half brother. After more days, Kahlil visits the place of Amihan, Danaya, and Lira and said that he would kill Danaya if Lira does not kill him. Alena was watching them crying and crying and Amihan tell Alena that his mind is already poisoned and they must kill him. Alena accepts that her son will be killed. And now, she watches her son die again, and disappear.

The attack on Sapiro

Amihan, Alena and Danaya were reunited once again. On a night of a feast, all the three sang'gres, diwatas, Adamyans, Ybarro, Wantuk and Apek were having a great time. Alena and Lira sang songs to entertain others while feasting. On the night of their feast Asval arrived outside Sapiro with the Kabilan which he borrowed from Hagorn. But as he was about to enter he was pushed back because the door was protected by the jewel of earth. Asval and the hathors found another way into the kingdom and surprised Amihan and her people with a strike. The four Sang'gres went inside to protect the Adamyans from harm. Ybarro faced Asval but he was no match against the Kabilan so he was almost about to die. Amihan, Alena, Lira and Danaya came back ready to battle with their armors and weapons. While Amihan was looking back, Asval surprisingly called her name and stroke her body with the Kabilan. Lira saw her mother and was even able to make Asval fall on the floor. Alena faced Asval on a one on one match. She and her opponent almost had an equal fight but Asval was quick enough to hit her back. Ybarro came back as Kalasag but with no mask. He faced Asval and was able to get the Kabilan again but was returned when an Aquil was hostaged. The three remaining evil Sapirians left.

Amihan's death and resurrection

Amihan was thought to be dead when Asval struck her with the Kabilan. But Amihan's soul temporarily went to a kind of dream where the scene is a peaceful Encantadia. She met Avilan (The air-kambal diwa) and told her the scene, which Amihan really wanted but will no longer be, as she is dead. Amihan did not believe him and tried to walk away. Avilan called for her but Amihan made a way back which is she cursed herself that she will not die at this present time because it's not the right time to leave her daughter and sisters, so she teletransported her soul back into her body, but a funny thing happened. While Alena is cleaning Amihan, she looked at her palms, which were without lines. She consulted Cassiopeia about this but the former queen also met the same fate. This means that if a person has changed his/her destiny, it's palm lines will be erased permanently, and many new things will happen, as Cassiopeia mentioned and she also said "Ikaw na ang magsisimula ng iyong kasaysayan" which means "you will now start your own history". Amihan also has new powers but has not yet fully known what this is. After knowing about her palms, she consolted Cassopeia about this and it also shows that Cassiopeia has the same hands as Amihan's. Amihan then discovered that her new powers are to summon her twin-spirit who's name is Aera that was very useful as she can help her in battle, do something while Amihan's doing something herself, and also has the same powers and skills.

Anthony's journey to Encantadia

Anthony is able to witness Mira's departure from the human world through the magical medallion and begins to believe that Encantadia is true and Lira is there.
After Mira returns from Encantadia, Mira fails to make Anthony drink a love potion that Cassiopeia gave her because Anthony is already suspicious.
Anthony and Manang Rosing travel to Encantadia after Antony discovers an Enchan writing and steals the magical medallion from Mira as a desperate attempt to find Lira.

Pirena's sickness

While spying at the Hathors during their ritual to produce more Hathors, Pirena was bitten by a spirit on her neck and brought her a sickness. The herbal plants couldn't help save the Fire Goddess so Gurna went to the other Sang'gres for help. One day in Sapiro, Gurna visited Amihan, Alena and Danaya for help. Danaya refused to help Pirena because of her anger. The three sisters refused to heal their eldest sister because of what she has done to them. All of them were thinking this was a trick. Lira on the other hand visited Pirena desperate that all sang'gres would get along. She then approaches her mother and aunts. The three still refuse but Lira never gives up.

Pirena gets well

Lira never stopped finding a way to help Pirena. Danaya is forced to heal her evil sister with her jewel. After a while Pirena wakes up not knowing anything that just happened. Gurna tells her that she was the one whom saved her with the help of a herbal plant. Pirena now returns to the Balaak and kills all the new Hathors. She also destroyed the sacred stone with the powers of the fire jewel. This stone was ised by Hagorn for the ritual. Cassiopeia visits Gurna and shows how mad she was. She told Gurna she should have never told Pirena that she (Gurna) was the one who healed Pirena. Cassiopeia stikes the plants with power and curses Gurna that she will never be successful.

The attack on Lireo

Hagorn, Asval and the Hathors went to Ascano to kill Amihan's kambal diwa (twin spirit-guide), Aera. But on this time, Amihan, Alena, Danaya, Ybarro and Aquil visit Lireo to take it back to the Hathors. The five strong warriors confidently and bravely faced all the Hathors. Aquil and Ybarro entered from outside and killed all Hathors guarding the main entrance door to the palace of Lireo. Amihan, Alena and Danaya face the Hathors inside the palace and had no problem with it. But while in Ascano, Aera and Mira face some of the Hathors while escaping. But suddenly, Hagorn strikes Aera with his kabilan and Aera is injured same with Amihan so Amihan called for her kambal diwa to go back inside her. Amihan's strength finally returned. Agane and more Hathors come to face the three elemental goddesses. Alena and Danaya challenge the Hathors while Amihan and Agane have a one on one challenge which Agane looses easily and quickly. More Hathors come but Ybarro and Aquil came to their help. The five warriors defeat their enemies. Agane and Hitano are left alone with no more soldiers. But surprisingly, Pirena comes and strikes Alena with Fire while she wasn't looking. Danaya tells Pirena that she should have never healed her and should have let her die when she had the chance. Pirena tells her that she doesn't know what she was talking about and looks at Gurna. Gurna was ashamed and remained silent. Amihan now wants a battle with Pirena to end it once and for all. Before starting the fight, Hagorn and Asval arrived. Amihan told him to leave because the Kabilan and the sceptor is no match with the four jewels of elements. Hagorn told them that he has power stronger than all and he showed them Mira. He asked for the for jewels and asked Amihan to decide. Amihan said no even if she loves Pirena's daughter, because the only way Encantadia will be at peace is if the jewels remain in the goo side. Pirena disagrees and is willing to give her jewel alone. But she said that this is not the right time and the seven leave Lireo and Pirena tells her sisters that she is planning something. Mira remains caged.

Encantadia plot summary (part two)

This is the second part of two parts of the plot summary of Encantadia fantasy soap opera (locally known as telefantasya) being aired in Philippine television.
This page will help understand the summaries of the episodes 111-160 of the series Encantadia.

Pirena's death and revenge

In an attempt to save Mira, Pirena seized her chance as Hagorn went to Balaak to find out why there were no Hathors coming back to Lireo. She disguised herself as Hagorn as she went to Lireo. However, the three other Sangg'res, also went to Lireo to save Mira. Lira, just coming from the fight in Ascano, went to Lireo to save her cousin, but was caught by Ybrahim in. There they met each other in the dungeon where Mira is caged.

As Mira is freed from captivity, Pirena, disguising herself as Hagorn, went to the same dungeon. The three Sangg'res fought with her, still thinking that she was Hagorn, and Amihan managed to fatally wound her. Then they went back to Sapiro, leaving Pirena behind, and have a little celebration.

The real Hagorn, who had just returned from the Balaak, found Pirena and thought that she was the one who had freed Mira, and demanded her jewel. Pirena ordered her jewel not to leave her until her death, and for her rage to be felt in Encantadia. Hagorn was terrified. Raging, Asval killed Pirena and had her body left in the desert to be eaten by the uruvaks flesh-eating pashneas (or creatures), if the other Sang'gres can't find her.

Pirena's anger was witnessed throughout Encantadia when an earthquake started and the vast land became dark for a few moments. The three sisters and Ybarro find Pirena's body and take it for a fit burial for a Sang'gre.

Anthony's times in Sapiro and through the rest of the land

Anthony ended up in Sapiro when Wantuk and Apek found them. Once Imaw knew he was the man Lira was loving, Amihan sent Alena and Danaya to take him and bring him beck to the human world so he can never see Lira again because Amihan is very scared that her daughter might be lost from her presence again and refuse to be queen and abandon her mission to love her lover again. When Anthony explores Sapiro, he finds his necklace in Lira's jewelry box and wonders why it is there. He then finds out that Lira is in Encantadia. Alena and Danaya now find Anthony and Rosing and are very mad at them and bring them to the forest. Danaya opens the portal to ak them to go back where they came from. Anthony secretly picks up some soil and hits Danaya, Alena now very angry warns Anthony but Anthony still refuses so Alena hits the ground and plants with power to frighten Anthony. Anthony is now left on the ground sleeping and weak.

Pirena's resurrection

With the help of Lira, Pirena is raised from the dead through a magical leaf that Lira took from Evades after going to a series of trials of the mind and heart. Although Lira wasn't able to answer the riddle of Evades, her heart proves that she is willing to revive her aunt Pirena from a lifeless state. On the other hand, with the help of Arde, the brother of Bathala, Hagorn is able to get the Jewel of the Fire from prior to her resurrection.

Series of attacks in Encantadia

Hagorn now possesses the Fire Jewel and he has set disasters in Encantadia but Amihan, Alena and Danaya are able to stop it because they have more Jewels than Hagorn.
Because of this, Hagorn tries to steal more Jewels but fails. He captures Lira and Pirena in exchange for Amihan's Wind Jewel but they are able to escape with the help of Gurna.
Hagorn tries to attack Sapiro with balls of Fire but Alena is able to repel it. So Hagorn tries another plan to possess the Jewels, he disguises as Aquil so that he can acquire the Earth Jewel from Danaya but he is unable to get it because the real Aquil appeared while getting it from Danaya.

Humans back to human world

As the world of Encantadia weakens Anthony, Manang Rosing and Banjo, Mira casts a sleeping spell to them through a magical dust and transports them back to the human world.

In the human world, Mira sprinkles another magical dust to them and suddenly they forgot everything that they experienced in Encantadia. Mira decides to stay also in the human world and improperly disposed the magical medallion.

For the second try, Mira is able to make Anthony drink the "love potion" and Anthony magically falls in love to her and forgot everything about Lira. But Lira discovers that Anthony is back in the human world, so she goes there to meet Anthony. Upon arriving in the human world, Lira is dismayed because Anthony no longer recognize her. But she gave Anthony the Enchan script that details the long lost history of Encantadia and was said to be written by Raquim. It was prophesied that someone from another world would bring back that script to Encantadia to the rightful owner. Imaw suspects that the prophecy is referring to Anthony.

Truths revealed to Pirena

Long after escaping, Pirena suddenly teleports in the front of Hagorn and steals the Kabilan and attacks both Hagorn and Asval. Gurna rushes to her and stops her saying siya ang iyong ama meaning he is your father. Pirena shocked and angry leaves the Kabilan and teleports.

While Pirena and Lira are on their way to Lireo, Lira tells Pirena that Danaya was the one who healed Pirena. Pirena puzzled and confused leaves Lira in the forest and confronts Gurna. Pirena becomes mad at Gurna but Gurna was able to trick the fire goddess. But when Pirena quests to look for a herbal plant, she approaches Imaw to see the truth through his magical cane. Pirena sees Danaya healing her and now understands. Lira has came back to Sapiro to find her relatives but Imaw tells her that they have gone to Lireo to defeat their enemies. Lira rushes to them but Imaw tells her that she must stay because she's alone. Pirena suddenly says hindi siya nag-iisa, sasama ako sa kanya meaning "she's (Lira) not alone, I'm coming with her". Pirena and Lira smile at each other then they hug. After that, it came to Lira's knowledge that Amihan, Alena, Danaya, Ybarro, and Muros are back with Ybarro hurt. Pirena tells Lira that she now must leave to face something else. She faces Gurna and slaps her twice in the face. Gurna, guilty tells her that the cane is just lying (but the cane never lies). Gurna then tries to affect Pirena but the Sangg'gre refuses to believe.

While Imaw is trying to get some fruits (he passionately wants some of them, then gives up, blaming himself why in this day he wanted them), Gurna sees him and sees his cane on the propped up on a tree. Gurna steals it so it can share no more truths. Imaw blames Pirena because she’s the only one who stole it but Pirena doesn’t get mad and promised to help him find it. She talks to Gurna about this and tells her how coincidentally the cane gets lost while she saw the truth about Danaya healing Pirena. After a few minutes, she follows Gurna and sees her burying the cane under the soil in the forest. Pirena manages to get this cane and looks at another answer to her question. She commands the cane to show Gurna’s real identity in her life from childhood to present. The cane showed her an answer showing how much Minea, Amihan, Alena, Danaya, Lira, and Mira loved her even if she has done terrible things to them all her life. She realizes that they are good, and cries and blames herself for the things she has done. Cassiopeia then tells her that light and darkness comes one at a time, Pirena has been to darkness but now, light is approaching and this is what has been quoted for her.

Facing Hagorn

After discussing a plan, Amihan, Alena, Danaya, Ybarro and Muros went to Lireo to face Hagorn's forces. The five warriors proved to be strong, united and powerful. Hagorn came out and told them that they have no match for his power. He showed them the fire jewel and surprisingly struck Ybarro with fire. Amihan approached Hagorn to attack. Danaya and Alena captures Asval while they had the chance. Hagorn used his Kabilan to fight Amihan but Amihan blocked it with wind. She then pushed the wind going to Hagorn and left with Asval as a hostage and took him to Sapiro as a prisoner. Although, Asval escaped with the help of Aquil.

Aquil's deal with Asval

Meanwhile, Ybarro discovers that a ninja-like warrior tries to steal the kantao (bracelet) from him. It turned out that this warrior is Aquil who made a deal with Asval. Aquil would turn-over the bracelet to Asval in exchange for the liberation of Lireo. Asval's motive of possessing the bracelet is still a mystery but it could be probably related to taking-over Sapiro.

Gurna's punishment

Days after seing the truth, Pirena confronted Gurna to punish her. She told her that why did she believe her nanny and let her nanny stop her from feeling the love of her sisters and mother. She trapped Gurna inside the stone leaving her solid and presumably dead.

The four Sang'gres reunited

Amihan, Alena, Danaya and Lira agreed to look for their sister in the forest. Meanwhile Pirena has blamed herself for the chaos in Encantadia and striked herself with her dagger ready to die. Amihan, Alena, Danaya and Lira are able to find her wounded. Danaya tries to heal her but Pirena did not accept the jewel's healing powers. Pirena told her sister that they must leave so that she may die and Encantadia will have peace and it's better for Pirena to be gone. The 3 sisters and one niece of Pirena tell her that they love her very much and have forgived her for her sins that she has done. She has then asked how they could forgive her when she has done so much things evil and selfish. All of them now speak the truth how long they've forgiven her and loved her inside their hearts even when war was taking place. Pirena now confronts Alena and asks for forgiveness, Alena tells her that she has forgived her eldest sister and would want her back. Then to Lira, but Lira says that she has no wrong doings even if she has, she would have forgotten it already. Then to Amihan because she has sinned the most to her. But Amihan smiles and tells her that inside her heart there has always been love for her sister all along and has forgiven her long time ago and then hugs her. She then talks to Danaya. But Danaya said that she can't forgive her anymore. She can't forgive Pirena if she won't accept the power of healing of her jewel. Pirena accepts the cure to her wounds and Danaya tells her how much she has loved her sister. After a few seconds they all hug like what they used to do when they were still young until the time came before their mother had died.

Amihan and her father’s sword, reunited once more

(To understand this part better, read the episode when Hagorn attacked Amihan, Ybarro and the soldiers in the Mandirigma camp and then Hagorn broke Amihan’s sword. Pirena suddenly saw the sword of Amihan broken and then she picked it up.)

While Amihan and Lira had some mother-daughter time, Pirena teleported inside. She told them that she went to Lireo to get something from her materials left in the palace. She then gave Amihan a sword as a sign of her thank you. Amihan told Lira that this was no ordinary sword but the sword of Raquim, her father. She burst into tears of joy and hugged her sister happily.

A feast for the Sang’gres and another attack on Lireo

After being united once again, the Sang’gres and other companions for the good side hold a feast. While talking at a table, Imaw asks the Queen Amihan how she feels about being united again. Amihan says that she’s very happy that their power will be much stronger now that all elemental goddesses are reunited as one together. She told them that they must face one more great war with Hagorn and after which will be able to go back to their kingdom and their home, Lireo. Amihan looks at her sisters and tells them that the four of them have to be first in the war. Pirena says she agrees to whatever her sister decides and concurred with Alena and Danaya. Amihan walks to the end followed by Pirena, Alena and Danaya. They turn their faces back and Alena first disappears, then Danaya, Pirena and finally Amihan. Alena changes her clothes from corals, shells, sea clothes for a Sang’gre to clothes with hard pearls, corals, shells for battle. Danaya changes from animal shaped skin and cloths made from plants for a princess to a battle outfit with leaves. Pirena changes from a red and yellow dress to a battling outfit designed with lava and fire. And Amihan from winged and cloud designed princess clothes to an armor with wings, clouds and feathers. These were shown with their elements symbolizing their powers. The four attack Lireo and kill every Hathor that approached them. Amihan tells them that they have to go back to Sapiro if they are not sure about the danger ahead.

Anthony and Lira see each other again

Mira realizes that Lira is the one supposed to be for Anthony. After thinking, she found the medallion in the garden and opened the portal to leave for Encantadia. Anthony and Mira sat down to discuss something but Mira instead cries and her tears brought back the memory of Anthony. Mira brought Anthony to Sapiro to see Lira. Anthony and Lira meet in Sapiro but with the other diwatas nervous and angry. Amihan saw the script of her father in Anthony’s hands and asked for it but Anthony won’t give it because that’s the only reason they’ll let him stay with them. Amihan is mad and angry and even tries to hurt him with her powers but Lira stopped her. Through Anthony’s times, he felt weakness inside his body.

Queen Amihan versus Anthony

While Anthony was listening to some soldiers that a diwata may not surrender in a fight, he then approaches Amihan and asks for a fight. He tells her that if he can prove that his love for Lira is true, she would let him leave with Lira to the world of humans. Lira gets annoyed with Anthony and doesn't mind him for a while.

The day comes Amihan comes with a plan. She duplicated Lira into around 30 Liras. Anthony picked one and told Amihan that she is no Lira then another one and told her she is Lira. His choice was right bu Lira still won't go with him back to the world of humans. Anthony loses his strength and faints. Ybarro tries to heal him but nothing happens. Anthony suddenly dies but Lira's love brought him back. Lira escorts Anthony back into the portal and says goodbye because she doesn't need him anymore. Anthony leaves slowly and heartbroken.

Mira to turn to evil

Hagorn imprsioned Mira in the volcano of Lavanea. Lavanea, then asks her to give her her heart because she has no heart and doesn't feel anything ever since the jewel of fire created her. Lavanea steals Mira's heart and Mira becomes evil siding with Hagorn. Pirena and Alena challenge Lavanea. Lavanea was easily beaten so she tried to leave the battle. With the help of Alena's magestic voice, Lavanea was forced to go back. Pirena came up with a plan for Alena to hurt her and make her daughter's heart feel her mother. Lavanea sees the pain and gives the heart back.

Mira's death

After Pirena and Alena get back Mira's heart, Pirena approaches Lireo to see her daughter. She gives her daughter's heart back and challenges Agane. Pirena proves to be strong and hostages Agane but Asval arrives hostaging Mira in return. Pirena released Agane but Asval didn't release Mira and killed her. Mira looses her energy so Pirena wants to go to Sapiro to ask for medicine from Ybarro but Mira said that she wants to stay in her town and her kingdom. Pirena promised her that she will avenge her daughter's death screaming You will pay for this Asval.

Danaya's return

After Hagorn captures Danaya, Asval frees her asking for her jewel but Danaya remains hard as a rock. Asval then kills her and traps her inside a cave and covered it with a rock. Then suddenly, flowers bloom in the stone covering the door. Amihan asks Aera to find Danaya and Aera triumphs finding her dead. Aera cries and her tears have found Danaya. Danaya is revived explaining that the flowers have taken care of her and Aera was the one who woke her up.

The Final Battle between the Hathors and the rest of the kingdoms of Encantadia

Hagorn visits the Balaak to talk to Baltimus, the first ruler of Hathoria and the first holder of the jewel of fire. Baltimus gives him a scroll and asked him to brong it to the forest and light it with fire. Hagorn did what he asked and dead warriors and warrior spirits were brought back to life. The Sang'gres prepare for battle. They settled it in the shore where the great battle of Encantadia occurred during Raquim, Armeo, and Minea's time. At first only Amihan, Alena, Danaya, Pirena, Lira, Ybarro, Aquil and the Adamians, Diwatas and Mandirigmas were present being outnumbered. Asval commands that the Adjantaos be the first to attack but the Adjantaos sided right away with Amihan' forces. They ready the catapult and kill the Hathors. Asval and Agane's forces ready the cannon but Alena blocked all of their attacks. Hagorn and his new companions arrive and begin Amihan asks to fight. They attack the Hathors and kill them but the new companions of Hagorn were hard to defeat. They return to their base and almost surrender but the first queen of Lireo, Cassopeia arrives telling Queen Amihan that her help has arrived. Cassiopeia holds a sword presenting the Adjantaos, the Barbaros, and the Mulawins and even tells her that the help is not yet full. Amihan and her companions become confident and remain strong and walk approaching their enemies. Amihan, Alena, Danaya, Pirena, Lira, Ybarro, Cassiopeia, the Diwatas, the Mulawins, the Adjataos, and the Barabaros all approach to win their battle.

The End of the War

After help approaches, Amihan's side outnumbers and outstrenghts their enemies. Alena approached Agane and Hitano fighting them at the same time like two against one. Alena proved to be really one of the greatest warriors like her sisters by not even getting hurt. She beat down both Agane and Hitano. When Alena slashed Agane, Agane fell down and Alena blocked Hitano's hit. Hitano then remembered his past life as a Diwata hoping for Alena's love. He called Alena Akesha and Alena recalled. Agane was about to hit Alena but Hitano blocked it and instead hit Agane back making her injured. Agane then strikes Hitano dead then Alena kills Agane with her power. Hitano then says his last words, "Through all the times we've been through, you're the one I still love." then he turned to his former form and asks for forgiveness. Alena forgives and hugs him while he dies.

Aquil on the other hand, was hit by an opponent's weapon. Danaya tried to heal him but Aquil said no and also said being with her was already enough. He said "E corre diu" and "Mahal Kita" meaning I love you in both Enchanta and Tagalog language respectively. Danaya says the same and watched her loved one die. Alena and Danaya hug them with sadness in their hearts.

While Lira was defeating Hathors, Cassiopeia helped her and threw energy balls and killed more Hathors. More Hathors were on their way but Cassiopeia said that the remaining help has come. Through a portal, both King Armeo and Kahlil came all the way from Devas. They killed the remaining Hathors and the Warrior Spirits and after that left telling Lira goodbye and said to her to tell her father that they will still see each other.

Meanwhile, Amihan approaches Hagorn to have a duel. She tells him that this is the time when she will have her revenge and have peace but Hagorn told her that after this war, she will now meet her father Raquim in Devas. Amihan then strikes Hagorn's Kabilan with her father's sword proving that power doesn't come from the sword but by the way the warrior holds it. After hitting and blocking she slashes Hagorn's face like the way her father slashed it before. Amihan screams, "Now your face is equal." Hagorn got mad and stood up and continued their match. While Amihan wasn't looking, he suddenly striked her with the Kabilan's powers. Amihan stayed in the ground and Hagorn was about to kill her but Pirena comes to the rescue blocking Hagorn's attack. Pirena tells Hagorn "Before you die, answer me this, are you really my father?" and asks it three times. She loses her patience and attacks but Pirena was confused and Hagorn easily beats her almost killing her but Amihan finally strikes Hagorn. While Hagorn was dying, he was about to answer Pirena's question and shows the Jewel of Fire. Pirena grabs the Jewel and then Hagorn dies. Amihan accompanies her sister and they both leave.

The war ends with the battle of Ybarro versus Asval. Ybarro tells him that "Didn't I tell you that this war will end with your death?" Asval then tells him, "Can you really kill your own blood?" but Ybarro answers "I never considered you as my own blood.". The match begins with fighting with their weapons. At first, both of them are equal. They then have a hand to hand fight but Asval cowardly gets his axe same with Ybarro getting his sword. Ybarro was able to hit Asval and Asval hits Ybarro too. Ybarro quickly hits Asval one more time and kills him this time. Asval quickly gives Lira's kantaw (bracelet) back and tells him, "The kantaw is the key to the hidden treasures of Sapiro. I only wanted it so I can put Sapiro up again and rule it. Do what's right Ybarro and put back our kingdom." That was the end of the war between the Hathors and the three other kingdoms of Encantadia.

Sapiro's revival

After the war, Ybarro was crowned as King of Sapiro in his kingdom. At last, Prince Ybarro, the Adjantaos, and the Barbaros have once again raised Sapiro as a kingdom. Ybarro and Wahid explored the kingdom in search of the hidden treasures. He found a wall needing two keys. The keys were the kantaws of Ybarro and Lira. Ybarro unlocked the door and there appeared the riches that King Armeo hid for his son, Ybarro.

The Four Elemental Jewels of Encantadia are back as one again

After the Diwatas pray to Bathala that all those whom have died be accepted in Devas to find peace, Lira and Cassiopeia said that the mission is not yet done for the four jewels must be back as one. Pirena put out her fire jewel and said that she's ready then Alena, Danaya and Amihan. The holders asked their jewels to be back as one and after just a few seconds the stones became one big diamond like the time when the jewel was one before Cassiopeia divided it.

The Jewel rose up and a bright light appeared and there came Queen Minea, the mother of the four Sang'gres. Minea talked to them one by one. First she talked to Pirena and Pirena asked for forgiveness but her mother said "Pirena my eldest one my most loved one, you've done nothing wrong for you've already seen the light and whatever you have done is already finished for now I'm facing a new Pirena". Then Minea talked to Alena saying "Alena, I felt every pain you've been through, you're pain was so strong that you fell in darkness but now you've seen the light. I praise you for you have been strong all this time with your love. Before, your heart was weak but now it's your strongest power I really praise you". After talking to Alena, Minea tells to Danaya, "Danaya, my youngest one, my strong smallest one, you were so strong and hard as a rock but you also learned hot to loose and became soft, you are brave, and honest to your kingdom, I also praise you my Danaya." Lastly Minea talked to Amihan but Amihan said, "No mother, I'm not worthy of your praising, because of me Lireo fell down ." but the former Queen said, "You are very worthy of my praising for you became strong and powerful". After talking to them one by one, she said she was about to leave and the sisters said that they need her with them here and their mother said, "You don't need me here anymore because the joining of your jewels symbolize your love and my love for each other, take this jewel and take care of it because you will take care of it your whole life." Before Minea left, the four Diwatas took the jewel altogether and keep it.

The new Queens of Lireo and Sapiro

After Queen Minea left to go back to Devas, Amihan got her crown and placed it on Lira as new queen of Lireo. Lira said, "The prophecy has been fulfilled and I am the new queen, but not for long, because I want to pass the crown to the rightful person. Mother, I am asking for your blessing to go back to Anthony so I can be with him for the rest of my life". Amihan then let her go back to the human world and stay there so that she may be happy. Amihan then asked Imaw who should be new Queen and Imaw said, "The next one of the sisters, Alena." but Ybarro arrived and said "No, I won’t accept it. Alena, I want to ask you to be with me as Queen of Sapiro.” Alena then hugged Ybarro and accepted his offer. Lira then told Danaya that she is the rightful Queen. Danaya was surprised for she didn’t want to be Queen anymore; she wanted to be one only when she was younger. Her sisters told her that she would be a good Queen for Lireo and a good queen for the throne. Pirena and Amihan have had their time with the throne but now it is high time for Alena and Danaya to be the queens of Sapiro and Lireo, respectively.

The birth of a new Sang'gre

Anthony and Lira got married and lived in the human world until Anthony got old and died. Because Lira, being a Diwata, didn't undergo the process of ageing, she went back to Encantadia and asked Cassiopeia to let her die and be reunited with Anthony. Lira got her final wish and was reunited with Anthony. During Lira's wake, Cassiopeia pulled strands of Lira's hair and from that hair and Cassipeia's blood, Cassiopeia created Lira's child. She named the conceived infant Cassandra, and she said, "You are Cassandra, daughter of Lira. You will have eternal life and everlasting peace will reign because of you." But at that time, darkness loomed over the skies of Encantadia as the ruins of an ancient kingdom arose from its ashes as if signifying the eventual restoration of its power and glory.

Etheria

Plot summary

The Kingdom of Etheria

Etheria is the ancient (and probably, the oldest (for this was the first kingdom established)) kingdom in the Encantadia world where the Kabilan was found and made war with the other kingdoms like Adamya, Sapiro, Hathoria, and the newly founded kingdom of Lireo. Animus, an Etherian agent from Hera Sensa, was responsible for the deaths of Memen and Ornia, the parents of Cassiopea, hence the three other kingdoms symphatize with her and declared war against Etheria. This united effort of the four kingdoms helped Cassiopea defeat Etheria.

Back when Encantadia was a young world, there was a kingdom called Etheria, the strong and powerful kingdom was ruled by Queen Avria who wanted to control the neighboring kingdoms of Lireo, Sapiro, Adamya and Hathoria. The neighboring kingdoms, however, banded together and attempted to defeat the forces of Etheria. Avria would not be defeated easily even as her kingdom succumbed. The queen swore that Etheria would return to power once the Last Sang'gre was born.

The Four Herans in Book 3

When Etheria was destroyed, the goddess of that kingdom, Ether, flew around her kingdom which was all destroyed to find the Four herans. She found them all and kept their spirits in a crystal ball and brought them to the future. The Crystal ball broke and their spirits were free and they hid in Hera Andal. They practiced fighting and were plotting something evil so they may try and steal the four jewels (because their powers were too weak compared to the sang'gres powers) so Etheria may once again rise back in glory. Monarchy

A Sapirian of royal lineage can be identified by a distinct marking, like the Sang'gres, but on their right shoulder blades. This marking resembles the rune or symbol for Sapiro (which also represents the Earth element).

In contrast to Lireo, Sapirian royalty is very much alike to the traditional patriarchal definition of an absolute monarchy which means the eldest son of the king is next in line to rule the mystical kingdom. The Sapirian king is allowed to love whoever he wants to love and choose his wife but what makes them different from the Diwatas is that their race is dominated by men. The kingdom's laws regarding ascension has all changed in the aftermath of King Ybrahim's death. The demised king's consort Alena, was endowed with monarchial powers of state and served as the Dowager Queen. And in the absence of a male heir to the throne, Ybrahim and Alena's sole daughter, Armea, was crowned and instituted as Sapiro's very first Queen regnant.
There have been six (6) instituted rulers of Sapiro since its founding:

Diwatas, Adamyans, Hathors and Etherians
  • Nahq - The founder and first ruler of Sapiro. He was responsible for Sapiro’s rise as one of the most powerful and progressive kingdoms in Encantadia. Not much else is known of King Nahq apart from his having sired three sons: Meno; Armeo (father of Raquim) (both by Daiazen); and Asval (by Erna).
  • Meno - King Meno ascended the throne of Sapiro after his father Nahq. It was during his reign that Sapiro was in its full glory and the land of Encantadia was in its golden era, with only Etheria, Hathoria and Adamya as the other kingdoms in the earlier period of his rule. Meno was a valiant, wise and compassionate king, he is a very sensible decision-maker and poses a soft side in some occasions. He was a member of the Council of Encantadia and was the formative factor upon their resolution to wage war against Etheria, and was among those to receive from Emre the gem that embodied the four elements. In his latter rule, King Meno was blessed with his sole heir from his wife Nadezhda which he named Armeo (after Meno's beloved brother and Raquim’s father, Armeo).
  • Armeo - King Armeo is Meno's son and rightful heir to the Sapirian throne. Mayne was his queen. He is the ado (father) of Prince Ybrahim and, thus, the ilo (grandfather) of the Sang'gres Lira, Kahlil and Armea, and of the half-Etherian Arman. King Armeo was the keeper of the Earth Gem after it was cleaved and divided among the four rulers of the kingdoms of Encantadia (Mine-a of Lireo, Keeper of the Wind Gem, Arvak of Hathoria, Keeper of The Fire Gem and Imaw of Adamya, Keeper of the Water Gem). It was during Armeo’s rule that hostility swept over Encantadia when the Hathors threatened to seize the gemstones from the other kingdoms. Armeo and his cousin, Prince Raquim, rescued the Adamyans from the clutches of the Hathors after they have acquired the Water Gem from the small denizens. In the battle that ensued, Armeo slew King Arvak and obtained the gemstones of Fire, Earth and Water. In that same battle came Armeo’s unexpected demise at the hands of Arvak’s son, Hagorn and the eventual fall of Sapiro transpired. Before his death Armeo was able to give the gemstones to his cousin Raquim and ordered these to be delivered to Queen Mine-a of Lireo for safekeeping.
  • Ybrahim - King Ybrahim of Sapiro is Armeo's only heir and was one of the surviving Sapirians from the royal house during the fall of Sapiro. While Ybrahim’s ado (father) King Armeo battled the Hathors, he was taken by her ada (mother) Queen Mayne for safety after the Hathors conquest of their kingdom. Upon their escape, a troop Hathors manage to slay Queen Mayne. Ybrahim was then entrusted by her mother to a mandirigma named Apitong, who became his adoptive father. Ybrahim was known as Ybarro and grew up to become a skillful warrior with great finesse in sword fighting and combat. He was Lira's father after he and Amihan made love in a dream. He is also the father of Kahlil, Alena's son who is the supposed heir to the Sapirian throne but died. Ybrahim was crowned as the new King of Sapiro, after a long period of time, subsequent to the Encantadian war. He unearthed Sapiro’s hidden treasures and started a new era for the kingdom. His reign revitalized Sapiro into its once influential and commanding rule. He brought peace amongst the inhabitants of Sapiro’s four tribes and shares an amiable relationship with the neighboring kingdoms. He is married to Sang'gre Alena, Keeper of the Water Gem who became the newly crowned Queen of Sapiro. Together they serve as guardians to Cassandra, Lira’s daughter and heir to either Lirean throne. In Etheria however, when they travelled to the past, Ybrahim lost his memory and he was casted under the spell of Hera Odessa which became pregnant before Etheria's fall. In Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas (Book 3 of the saga), Alena gave birth to their second child, Armea. However, Ether, the goddess of Etheria, gave life once again to the Herans including the child in the womb of Odessa. Ybrahim's child from the Etherian royalty was named Arman, whom he kept under his wardship unaware of their true kinship. Ybrahim became Arman's mentor as he trained his protegee to become a great and skillful warrior and ally.
  • Alena - Alena is the Diwata wife and queen consort of King Ybrahim. As a royal-blooded Sang'gre, she had claim to the crown of Lireo after the abdication of Lira. She instead chose to accept her beloved Ybrahim's proposal to be his wife and queen in Sapiro. For a short period after the death of Ybrahim, Alena was invested as ruling queen by the Sapirian council. Before her death, she tells the council that their daughter Princess Armea should be the next ruler of Sapiro, which was not allowed in Sapirian Law.
  • Armea - Armea is the daughter of King Ybrahim and Queen Alena. She was allowed to succeed her father and mother as the rightful bearer of the Sapirian crown. Under her Ashti Pirena's tutelage and Ashti Amihan's blessing, Queen Armea is said to have become a wise and exemplary ruler. She is loved and admired by the people of Sapiro and Encantadia.

Geographic features

Sapiro is located in Northern Encantadia. It covers much of Northern Encantadia and extends to the northern reaches of Lireo. Sapiro extends up to the north of the West Mountains located in Hathoria.

Sapiro is a mountainous kingdom. The Adjantao Tribe lives in the realm of the Northern Mountains. These mountains are forested and serve as foliage. The people here do not seem to farm since they can get their food from their bountiful sorroundings. Mount Lavanea is located in Northwest Sapiro. In the high reaches of the Northern Mountains, lie the Tree of Life which is guarded by the mythical being, Evades. The mountains in Sapiro are very rich with gemstones, metal ores and other mining products, making Sapiro the predominant mining nation in Encantadia.
Sapiro is blessed with fertile lands and many forests sorround the said kingdom. The forests here are hardwood trees similar to that of Narra.
There are four tribes on Sapiro:
  1. Adjantao

Changes to history

A large part of the beginning of the history of Etheria is told in large part by the parchment dubbed as the "Raquim Papers". Written by the Sapiryan prince during his self-imposed exile with Amihan in the realm of the non-Encantadas (mundo ng mga tao), it was lost after a tragic encounter with a vengeful Hagorn and a late in-coming rescue of Amihan by the Diwatas.

The "Raquim Papers" were later found and displayed in a museum of antiquities, and, by chance, it catches the eye of a mortal: Anthony. He takes it for himself and carries it to Encantadia, where he sought to reunite with his long-lost love, Lira/Milagros.

Unwittingly, the "Raquim Papers" served to Amihan and Ybrahim a reminder of the tragedy and (to them, possibly) needless sacrifice of their daughter Lira/Milagros for the sake of her love for the mortal Anthony. The two parents fell to their versions of embitterment: Amihan rejecting the intimacy and care for her grandchild Cassandra, and Ybrahim falling more and more to the work of studying the papers, if only to remind him somehow of his daughter Lira.

Differences Between Etheria's Recorded History and the Sang'gres Changes
Recorded History Sang'gres' Changes
The death of Animus, upon marriage and victory to Juvila, by Asval, Raquim and Hagorn , triggered the war of Etheria. Alena kills Animus because of her anger towards Etheria in changing her husband's attitude toward her, even before Animus gets the Olontre's powers and defeat and marry Juvila in a contest. Alena later becomes shocked whom she killed was Animus, its death the cause of the war of Etheria in recorded history.
Memen and Ornia are killed together in their chambers in Sapiro by Animus and Avria's Kabilan. Memen gets killed first by Avria then Ornia by Andora, Animus's sister who should be the one who killed the two (Memen and Ornia). Either way, it has been the cause of Etheria's war.
Mine-a is Avria (pure Etherian) and Memen's (half Etherian half Diwata) daughter and she has dominant Etherian blood (and recessive Diwata blood). Mine-a is revealed to be an adopted daughter of Avria and Memen. She did this under Barkus's guidance to instill an heir to the Etherian throne, Avria being unable to sustain a child. She killed a Diwata couple and snatched a young Diwata child with the Sang'gre mark on her left shoulder. Memen, believing that the baby is his child, named her after the Enchan word for "snow".
Cassiopea was born to parents Memen and Ornia in the Sapirian tribe of Adjantao and she was named after the Enchan word for "glowing fary in the darkness" (kumikinang na Diwata sa karimlan). Cassiopea was indeed born to parents Memen and Ornia in Adjantao but it was Amihan (disguised as Merdana) who suggested that Memen name the baby Cassiopea.
Hagorn, who has the powers of shape-shifting, made Mine-a, also his true love, believe that he is Raquim, by shape-shifting into him. By this trickery, Sang'gre Pirena was born. Hagorn has no powers yet to shape-shift. Pirena, worrying about her not being born yet, manages to give her father her powers of shape-shifting. Pirena has full powers of shape-shifting because she can maintain being someone else for a long period of time, while her father can only manage it for a short time only.

Places in the human world

Avila

Avila is the kingdom of the Mulawin located on the top of a mountain near the town of Tierra Fuego of the human world. It is where Bagwis and Dakila revived Mila after Hagorn attacked her.

Halconya

this is their Kingdom established by Ravenum and Rasmus (The rebell mulawins who turned into Ravenas) with the help of sanggre Pirena, this is the place where Danaya ang bagwis went to for taking an aid for Lira...

Anthony's mansion and business office

Most of the story in the human world is set in Anthony's mansion and business office. In the mansion, the story focuses more on the scenes between the love triangle of Lira, Mira, and Anthony while in the office, the plot of the story centers on the rivalry between Anthony and Carlos regarding who will take-over the real-estate business of Carmen, who is Anthony's mother and Carlos' aunt.

Bottom of the sea

It is where Danaya recovered her Earth Jewel and battled a sea monster with the help of a dolphin.

Human plane

The human world (mundo ng mga tao in Tagalog) can be found outside the dimension of Encantadia and the only portal between the two worlds is the Tree of Asnamon, which can only be opened by a magical medallion and when the portal opens, it produces a vortex that serves as a door. The place of the humans is set in modern times. One of the notable humans in the story is Anthony, who fell in love with Mila (short for Milagros), Lira's name in the world of the human beings. Mira, the daughter of Pirena, also fell in love with him but Anthony loves Mila more, making them a love triangle.

Climate in Encantadia

Unlike the human world, Encantadia only has one season. It's weather is affected by the Four Gems of Fire, Earth, Water and Air.

If the Earth Gem is lost, plant and animal life in Encantadia start dying gradually. It is said to be similar to autumn. If the Fire Gem is lost, the Encantadian sun will not shine and fire has disappeared resulting in the cold weather similar to winter.
It is still unknown if the Water Gem is lost. If that happens, everything may start to dry up like drought. The worst that could happen if the Air Gem is lost. Heat would be unbearable. Worst, there may not be any air left to breathe.

Kingdoms

Lireo

The land of the Diwatas is the Kingdom of Lireo, bounded on the east. The wise, strong, brave and powerful Cassiopea was the first ruler and founder of Lireo. Cassiopea helped, rather eluctantly with using the Jewel, at the extinction of Etheria and later became a member representing Lireo at the Council of Encantadia. At the start of the series, the ruler was Mine-a who was succeeded by her daughter Amihan. The ruler of Lireo carries either the title of Reyna or Ynang Reyna if she is already with sons/daughters. This kingdom is the keeper of the Jewel of Air. Lireo had 10 Queens during the series.

Lireo

Lireo is a fictional queendom in the world of Encantadia, the main setting of the Philippine telefantasya (fantasy-themed television series) of the same name. In the series, Lireo is the homeland of the Diwata race, and is the youngest of the four kingdoms comprising present-day Encantadia (the others being Sapiro, Hathoria and Adamya).
Lireo was first glimpsed in the telefantasya Mulawin, where the Diwatas were introduced as allies of the Mulawin (the titular bird-people of that series). Lireo and its people were explored at length in Encantadia, whose story centered on the royal Diwatas known as Sang'gres. The founding of Lireo and the early history of the Diwatas, as well as much of the backstory of Encantadia, was prominently told in Etheria. Part of the action of Mulawin the movie once again takes place in Lireo.
The ruler of Lireo carries the title of Ynang Reyna.

Lirean Culture

Lireo is a matriarchal culture. Women enjoy equal if not higher status as that of men. This is evident in the fact that only female Sang'gres may ascend the throne, and that the Ynang Reyna is forbidden from any sort of romantic attachment. Lireo does not have a definite caste system; however, it is known that Sang'gres are the highest among them.
The houses are often surrounded by gardens where they grow crops.

Lireo has many statues made in his likeness. They offer many things before the said statues. Lireo, however, does not resort to human sacrifice for the pleasing of Bathala. It is not mentioned if Lireo built huge temples for Emre. The highest ranking Sang'gres are the high priestesses of the religion, and act as divine conduits/vessels through which Emre conveys his will.
Lireo is a kingdom that is on friendly terms with Sapiro and Adamya. Lireo's enemy is the kingdom of Hathoria. Lireo does not quickly retaliate to hostile attacks. They will only attack back if necessary. Lireo's warriors are not as strong as those of Sapiro and Hathoria. Its greatest strength are the Sang'gres, the royal family. These Sang'gres are very powerful, matching the masters of Hathoria and Sapiro in the skill of war, and extremely adept at manipulating the elements for their own benefit.

This discrimination stemmed from the Diwata believed to be the most poweful diwata that walked Encantadia, Esmeralda.

Language

Lireans or Diwatas have their own language. It is called Enchanta. Enchanta has its roots from Etheria, or the fifth kingdom of Encantadia.

Enchanta

Enchanta is a fictional language that was devised for the Philippine fantasy television show (telefantasya) Encantadia, which aired on GMA Network from May 2 to December 9, 2005. A sequel series, Etheria, started airing on December 12, 2005. Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas uses the same language aswell.
Enchanta was devised by Suzette Doctolero, head writer of the said series.
