Imortal (lit. Immortal) is a Philippine supernatural–fantasy horror and political thriller TV series produced by ABS-CBN. Starring Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz. It's a sequel to the 2008 fantasy series, Lobo.
Plot
Prequel
Imortal is a sequel to the 2008 ABS-CBN fantasy series, Lobo. The previous series also starred Angel Locsin opposite Piolo Pascual. However, Lobo story-wise only included werewolves without any reference to vampires. Locsin's character in Imortal will be the daughter of her character in Lobo.
Synopsis
Three hundred years ago, a group of powerful beings arrived in our shores. Known as vampires, drinkers of human blood, their menace quickly spread throughout the land. But unknown to them, a powerful clan also lived in the islands, a group of beings who can transform themselves into powerful wolves - the Taong Lobos.
The Taong Lobos were the humans' protectors and they immediately formed an army to destroy the vampires. The blood drinkers were no match to the Taong Lobos. One by one, they fell. Those who survived were driven into hiding. What followed was peace among the humans and Taong Lobos, and the memory of the vampires started to fade.
Unbeknownst to them, the vampires are only lying in wait – organizing and fortifying their numbers until they are ready. They are holding a secret – a prophecy that foretells of an epic battle between them and the Taong Lobos that will finally decide the one blood that shall rule all. The battle shall be led by a powerful vampire and a powerful Taong Lobo who are each others nemesis and downfall. The vampires believe they have found their prophesied savior and now they are preparing to come out and start the war. The Taong Lobos have grown complacent, and they know nothing about the prophecy.
With the stage set for an epic battle, two individuals, Mateo (John Lloyd Cruz) and Lia (Angel Locsin), find themselves drawn to each other, unsuspecting that as they grow closer together, they are awakening the powers that are lying dormant in both of them – the same powers that will inevitably tear them apart.

Instead of dying, he chooses to live, without realizing the consequences of his decision. The two later become friends, but remain at odds over the subject of feeding – Magnus advocates feeding by killing humans, while Roman disagrees. Magnus is told about a prophecy that two babies will be born, one from the Werewolves and one from the Vampires, and they will be destined to be both enemies and in love at the same time. | ||

She makes Abraham realize that her loyalty to Mateo's is akin to Abraham's to her mother Lyka. Meanwhile, Samantha learns from Olive about Mateo's execution and calls for the help of all the vampires to rescue Mateo. | ||

She then tricks Lia and Mateo into believing that she is on their side, but then betrays Lia and knocks Mateo unconscious to bring him back to Roman's Civilization. | ||

However, Lucille's followers escape and also proceed to Roman's Civilization, with the intention of capturing Roman alive. Meanwhile, Roman is about tell Mateo the truth about Lyka's death when Lucille's followers attack their civilization. They are about to confront their attackers when they are stopped by Magnus, and he reveals that it was he who told the werewolves about Mateo's location. Roman and Magnus fight each other, but before Roman can rescue Mateo, Magnus throws a knife at his neck, paralysing him. He then gets captured by the werewolves while Magnus kidnaps Mateo. Samantha also learns from Magnus that she is the bite of pure love referred to in the third part of the prophecy. Lia was expecting to find Mateo, but only finds the necklace she had given him. | ||

| After the incident, Samantha, Lydia and the vampire survivors travel again to find a new hideout. Mateo is being kept in Magnus' lair and Roman is being held in prison. Lucille tries to interrogate Roman about Mateo and learns that he is Mateo's father, and upon learning this she decides to execute Roman and challenges Lia to come to the execution to kill Roman herself in exchange for her freedom. Lucille knows the anger that Lia holds towards Roman. Meanwhile, at Magnus' lair, Mateo also hears the news about his father's execution and tries to convince Magnus to help him, but he refuses. | ||

| Mateo escapes from Magnus' lair to rescue Roman. Lia attempts to investigate the coming execution, but she is discovered by one of the werewolves. Meanwhile, Mateo arrives at the place where his father is being executed only to see Lia about to kill his father. He tries to stop Lia but is prevented from doing so by the werewolf soldiers. However, instead of killing Roman, Lia decides to let Roman live, as she does not want to end up like him. As soon as she makes her choice, Mateo's infiltration alerts all the Werewolves, and Lia runs as fast as she can to rescue Mateo despite the soldiers firing their guns to stop her. | ||

| Lia tries to rescue Mateo, but she fails as she is being shot at by the soldiers. As both Mateo and Lia are weakening, Samantha and Lydia order the soldiers to stop. They order that Mateo be brought to a safe place, whilst Lucas takes Lia to the ambulance. Mateo tells Samantha that he wants to become a vampire, but as soon as Samantha makes him a vampire Mateo dies instantly. While Lucas removes the silver bullets in Lia's back, Mateo appears to Lia as a ghost in a dream and says goodbye. Meanwhile, back at the execution, Lucille receives the report of Mateo's death and informs Roman. He suddenly becomes enraged and tells Lucille that she is viler than an animal. He swears to Lucille that he will back, and one day it will be Lucille being judged and executed. Lucille then kills Roman. At the Civilization, Mateo's body is being prepared for burial. They believe it was Lia who killed Roman. | ||

| News of Mateo's death spreads across the Internet and the werewolves celebrate their victory. Lucille orders her subordinates to find Mateo's body as proof of his death. She eventually finds Mateo's body in a forest where Samantha is about to bury him. Lia carries Mateo to his family, and many of his friends who loved Mateo come to his burial. Lucille's subordinates try to take Mateo's body but Lia threatens them, saying that if they take him she will tell the public about the werewolves and what they did to Mateo, despite knowing that she would be forced to tell the public that she is a werewolf too. | ||

Mateo then returns from the dead. He has many questions to answer, including why Lia killed Roman. Samantha lies to him, telling him that Lia killed Roman, sending Mateo into a rage. | ||

Ratings
On March 7, 2011, it was moved to a later timeslot to give way to Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin. Because of this, the show's ratings dropped to an average of more than 20 million viewers nightly from having more than 30 million viewers.
Launch
Imortal was launched as part of the half-term show line-up by ABS-CBN, launched as part of the 60th Anniversary of Philippine Soap Opera.The production of the series started in June 2010.

Pangil: The teleserye-based RPG
Pangil (fangs) is an online role-playing game created in relation to the television show and was released before the premiere of the series was launched. The role-playing game involves around the character of Samantha (played by Maricar Reyes in the series) and instruct her quest as she defeats the enemies. The locations on the game were also based in real locations in the Philippines such as Intramuros, Quiapo and Binondo.
The Hidden Chapters of Imortal: Anino't Panaginip
A series of webisodes were also released on the official website entitled Anino't Panaginip (Shadows and Dreams). It consists of 5 minute long episode that was unreleased on television and will be released every week as the series premieres. There is currently 24 webisodes.
